To me the wall looks like a deep cut into America's soul,,,,, the way the wall sits on the ground and in the ground it definitely looks like a slashing style deep cut. Its simplistic existence presents very complex emotions and ideas of how it represents each and every one of those names on the wall, I've been to the wall, I've always admired and looked up to vietnam veterans. They, besides the men in my family serving are a huge reason why I enlisted myself. So as I stood there in front of that wall looking at names I do not know but know of, names of soldiers that were in some circumstances not more than 3 years older then me. I was 14 when I went and saw the wall,,,,,, it made such an impact on me that I feel it still to this day and I'm 41 now. That wall silently screams such pain and hurt that it's almost criminal. I couldn't help but feel anger after I saw the wall and went to other parts of DC to see that were directly responsible for each and every death on that wall. I have and always will respect and cherish vietnam vets,,,, I served myself 9 years in the army and fought in our nations war on terror,,,, we've learned nothing and although our 2 wars are very different they are so much the same on many levels,,,,,,,,,, thank you to all vietnam veterans for all you did, welcome home and I'm very sorry for the losses you endured but kept going. One vet to another,,, your not forgotten and god bless,,,,,thank you again may the rest of your life be filled with joy and peace

"The Resistance War Against America" is the Vietnamese name for the war and a more appropriate way to describe it.

Lot of people forget that even the soldiers themselves didn’t want to fight the war. Even more people see that when we fought Vietnam it was black and white and Hispanic hand in hand. Nah brah. White people are racist AF and as soon as you do something wrong they throw you out. New generation of kids are bred on COD and nationalism.
