7:11... This is the forehand that Nadal needs to use more. So often he has opportunities to close out points but instead decides to play it safe with heavy top-spin shots. He needs to have more faith in his ability to flatten out his forehand at key moments. If he played shots like this more often he would win more matches. Sounds dumb, but you will notice that on a lot of key points he fails to put the ball away in ways that other players do with relative ease.

    Utterly ridiculous video

This match is underrated because of the matches against Thiem, and Khachanov, but it surely was a tough one for Rafa.

Basilashvili worked himself into the match... in the 3rd set he was nearly unplayable, and still into the 4th a very tough cover to overcome.

+Ertugrul Körpinar You witnessed maybe Fucsovic's best ever match, right? I couldnt believe it..... I dont think Basil played bad but Fucso was unplayable.

Rafael Mertin basilashvilis Problem is that he doesn’t hold back from the corners when he’s stretched . The TOP guys exposed that by playing the percentages and force him to misfire . I was in the stadium in Rotterdam watching his match against Fucksovic and it was the reason he lost that match . I was sitting 30 metres behind his coach lol it was great to witness his huge groundstrokes from that close .

+Caleb Pereira Oh yeah, I knew what you meant regarding Basil... always good to hear you talk tennis.
Basil's slice could be better for sure. Take KK for example. Not just does he move as good as possible for his size, defends well, he also has great intermediate slicing..
That guy is the future, IMO. In fact I wouldnt be surprised if he won this AO. Doesnt lack anything, like the few things we can nit pick on Basil. Its crazy Basil has achieved so little so far, taking so long to improve shot selection, with how compact he is on both wings.

When I said "one dimensional with shot speed" in my first comment, I didn't mean Basil couldn't bash, but that he _only_ bashed.
Master baseliners like the Big 5 would do much more - they can bash, but they prefer adding subtle spin variation (Nadal's range here is the biggest) and speed variation to upset the opponent's rhythm.
I feel Basil lacks that, as of now ... but it can be learned quickly.
Nadal was pretty hilarious when he tried slicing early on (2006), but since then has become pretty good at it.

Even didn't include the Third set point by Basiliashvili.
    Really dislike this video.

    US Open Tennis Championships
why do you bring out the long higlights only after months .... and not on the same day ... the tennis fans, who do not have the opportunity to watch the game live on tv, are not satisfied with just 2-3 minutes of highlights on the same day ... THE Biggest LOSER IS ALWAYS THE TENNIS FAN ....
