Full Detail Lamborghini Countach: Matt Farah

  • Published on May 15, 2019
  • Today we detail Matt Farah's Lamborghini Countach in LA 4 weeks before his wedding. The paint is extremely delicate and thin, especially on the edges, and will require a "hand Polish" along the corners prior to using modified larger pads in the middle sections. We also found areas of paint that were single stage as well as 2 stage (clear coated) on the same panel...which added to the difficulty of the project. Huge thank you to Kevin Brown, Derek Bemiss, and Daniel Holinger for their help on the Matts detail. Hope you enjoy! -Larry

What? Big youtube channels usually have a high standard of quality. This isn't the youtube of 10 years ago, there is A LOT of competition on this platform. I would say a lot of channels on youtube are actually on par with the average TV show...

I never understood the whole “it’s got original paint myaaaaan!!!!! It’s more valuable!” thing that all the nut jobs seem to care about. If there was a countach with original paint that was scratched and beat to shit, cracking, etc. for sale for 200k, and a newly painted one that was painted with modern technology and methods for 200k, I’m taking the newly painted one.

I'm not satisfied with their choice of ingredients they use to polish the paint .Because 1988 was the first year car manufacturing using lead free paint and you have to be very careful and smooth. If not ,you go through the paint and get serious problem.

Original paint only to find out it isn’t and posted online for the world to see😂What even worse the body shop who repainted it with a base& clear (blended it in!!) instead of sticking to OEM spec of single stage! Might as well bite the bullet and pay for a full repaint to to the standard Larry had his Porsche done to.
Jokes aside fantastic video very informative on the cutting aspect on sensitive areas. Still a beautiful car in amazing condition. A job well done 🙌🏻

I’m in the middle of detailing a black 5000QV, left under a cover in a warehouse for over 10 years.. the paint was good but filthy. As there was no grit on the car I sponged and leathered it first as I didn’t want water getting into its secret little places. I decided to hand polish the car, as you point out, a lot of edges easily gone through. I used 3M products on it working with ever finer compounds to remove spider Webb scratches. I finished the paint with a specific special polish designed for black paint only. Finished off with a good quality wax. The car now looks wet, not a scratch in sight. It’s a good idea to leave the fine line splits near the radiator vents as that proves it’s original paint, and aged as it would. True enthusiasts look for this when inspecting prior to purchase, so best left alone. It’s black on black and covered only 10,000 miles, I’ve also been commissioned to recommission the car to running and driving status, I’ve already completely rebuilt it’s carburettor fuel system and cleaned out the tanks, including replacing both fuel pumps. Im
