    that has to be the healthiest street food i've seen, i can't believe how cool and resourceful they were to use the shell...i could see a restaurant in NY do this and charge $25 per scallop and not even be fresh and as healthy. Good Job Aden

    For me, this was the best stand for fresh scallops. I ate them for breakfast the three mornings I was in Osaka. Can’t beat King Crab and Scallops for breakfast.
    I would have preferred if they did not add pepper but from my understanding, that is how they do it in Osaka. (I had just gotten used to how they prepared them in Hokkaido.)

    All these comments about washing away flavors and wasting water lol I’m surprised no one complained about not wearing gloves lol. These people probably sue the hell out of them if they get sick eating them. It’s this kind of notion that makes me sick, Japan has abandoned water though they have drought time to time depending on weather, it may look like wasting water for those hurting for water but doesn’t mean they have to follow their example. They have water! Yet they do conserve more than you can imagine.

    Charcoal use for cooking is very common among many street food vendors, the temperature is near perfect if done right vs many other heating medium. One of the reason why street bbq tastes so unique is the "source" of the charcoal.
