Just so y’all know, there is nothing to worry about, for now at least. There have been studies and people ate diseased food of animals and there were no one had the disease. There could be a species barrier for the disease

I'm pretty sure that peta just gave this disease to a bunch of deer so that it would be more prevalent and get all over the news. Maybe this whole thing is a plan to make us go vegan by scaring us into thinking that we could get it from eating animals.

It's been around since the 60s and still hasn't. We're just playing it safe, but I'm pretty sure the CDC doesn't believe too strongly that it's a big worry.

Let’s be completely honest for a second. The zombie apocalypse is very unlikely to happen. For starters, we don’t even know if this CAN be transmitted to humans. It’s just a possibility. Also, it’s possible the symptoms may vary in humans. A deer is not the same as a human. One more thing. Any of you who actually want the zombie apocalypse to happen will be the first to die.

  • pablo guzman
    pablo guzman 20 days ago

This is the same parasitic outbreak to happen to moose in the North west. it only has an effect on animals that are related to deer (Bears, wolves, crows, coyotes and other animals that would eat alive/dead deers do not have this problem). It only makes the animal wander around aimlessly until it dies from starvation, thirst or gets hit by a truck. Its harmless to humans and all other animals.

    • Awkward Seal
      Awkward Seal 20 days ago

      +pablo guzman True indeed.

It's definitely not a worry. It just got a bunch of coverage because people like to spread fear.

    • Awkward Seal
      Awkward Seal 20 days ago

It's been around since the 60s. Only reason people are worried is because of misinformation and fear mongering.

This has been a thing we've known about for many years, and it hasn't caused any problems or infections in humans for 50+ years.

The CDC, should make a vaccine, for the disease. Cure the infected deer, temporarily ban deer meat, and when the virus has been completely wiped out, put everything back to normal.

    • Awkward Seal
      Awkward Seal 20 days ago

      It's not a virus.

This has been around since the 60s, it isn't much to worry about really.

I wonder if it's spreading through feeding. They use a lot of feed plots and feeding station to hunt instead of just letting them move through the landscape and well.. hunting for them. Could that be helping the spread? Is it in the big glass spots or mostly near human .. "hunting parts"?
