What are your thoughts on the Giants replacing Eli Manning with rookie Daniel Jones?

Not to mention, he was surrounded by talent and people forget that made him look better than he was.

    • World Peace

He should have been replaced last year.

Eli Manning has had an excellent career with Big Blue...He has taken my G-men the big dance twice and was victorious...With that being said, It's time now for Eli to pass the torch to the next leader and future of the Offence...Thank you #10 for the championships, and for all of the memories...You will be missed and never forgotten...

ELI HAS HAD THE WOrst OFFENSE LINE since 2018 is an improvement. but your askin a quarterback to improve with no line, Rodgers got injured from a o line. Brady probably is the only quarterback capable of being consistent no matter what

Skip loves to say Eli won 2 close SBs.....but he flat-out refuses to acknowledge Brady won a few off his kicker's foot.

Both of these guys could not be more wrong. Come on this is not a one man sport. They did not talk about offensive line which failed to protect Eli. And a defense that was even worse. Receivers that dropped balls that no NFL player should drop. You can put the best QB in the world in there and if you don't have the players to do their job your team will always lose.

The giants D had Tom Brady tap dancing like the late great Gregory Hines. That’s why they won those two super bowls

What's so funny is that they said he lead the NFL in Interceptions...Peyton, is number two on that list all time so wtf you talking about? I'm sorry, but is Eli, the only player on the team? He didn't lose those games all by himself!

@Avinash Reji That's more of a reflection of the bad teams he's played with as a whole, not him. We know what he can do to with a decent team around him

Say what you want about Eli- But winning the big one matters more than stats. This man did it twice and all these other supposed greats -A rodgers, Drew Bress have not done that yet and probably won't. If they get in Eli should be there waiting on them-Period!

in my opinion.. its way to soon to be talking about replacing Eli. yes Jones had an amazing game this past sunday. he will make a great quaterback for our team, but give both of them a break! eli is a champion, jones is still a rookie. i love my giants and always will. weve had great season and weve had season where being a fan was hard to admit BUT eli was our QB thru and thru. itll be hard when he leaves ... talk to me when jones plays a game and they lose..

    • Ed D
      Ed D 26 days ago

Actually he did. Dress it up however you want. I'm eternally grateful the Chargers got Rivers instead, doesn't change that Eli is a pos.

    • Jay Carroll
      Jay Carroll 26 days ago

Actually if u know your history he didn't. Chargers insisted on bringing Eli's parents to San Diego and they didnt want to get involved in the processes. They did anyway and they didn't feel like it was the right place for their 22yr old son. Obv they were right!

I looked up best qbr in a superbowl, and nod to the giants, it was Phil Simms.

  • jerfriend1

Have you looked where he has ranked on other passing stats?
    6th all time passes completed
    7th all time passing yards
    8th passing touchdowns
Only 45th all time passing rating but that's ahead of Roger Stabach, Steve McNair, and Troy Akman.
He is 14th in interception but Peyton Manning, Bret Farve, Dan Marino, Jonny Unitas had more.
16th in average passing yards by game
    13th on 4 quarter comebacks
So no Eli wasn't the best QB but matched up against other Hall of Famers he beats a lot of them. Glad he is "done" but he had a better then average career even if the win/lose record doesn't show it.

    • Jay Carroll
      Jay Carroll 26 days ago

Ty. And to this day has the beat post season in NFL history with yards n completions in a post season. 2011 when he carried the 31st ranked defense and 28th ranked rushing offense.

Eli wasn’t Peyton. But he was the most durable clutch QB of a generation, and that’s what you want in a QB. A guy who can win you the game when it counts and always suits up. He wasn’t going to carry a bad team, but give him a moderately good defense and a moderately good running game and he’s better than most
