But how do you know someone doesn’t have enough dopamine or serotonin without testing their actual neurotransmitter ecosystem? I’d be slow to medicine like SSRIs, sure, but I think some wonderful medicines that actually promote feelings of happiness, well being and general productivity have been stigmatized by sentiment like that expressed here by psychologist Dr Phil. Essentially, this tough love/sadistic attitude. It’s like, if someone has ADHD, we treat them taking Ridalin as a performance enhancing drug when it’s just a means of helping compensate for their debilitating condition. If anything, the over regulation, forcing people to black markets or shady doctors for medicine is the problem. The problem is overprescribing Zoloft because the alternative, less harmful pills that actually promote feelings of well being instead of numbness or suicidal thoughts are being removed from the market.
Today, in medicine, anything that makes you feel good or do better is outlawed or over regulated. Anything that will make you feel terrible, feminize you, ruin your fertility, destroy your body is pushed as helpful. As a result, we have a drug epidemic that is worse than ever. Nations like Portugal and Switzerland cured their own drug epidemics by DE-regulating opioids and removing the stigma to their usage. We’ve moved in the wrong direction and are paying for it.
I grew up with a father on opiates for chronic pain suffered from 3 Purple Hearts in the Vietnam war. Because his doctors and the VA hadn’t stigmatized his treatment and not only gave him the necessary treatment but openly monitored his usage, he was able to lead an extremely successful working life despite bullet fragments and grenade shrapnel throughout his body. This issue with veterans, as I see it, is because we’ve forced them to bad doctors or black markets a read of giving them the necessary pain treatment. It’s because we’ve stigmatized opiates, so their doctors have been turned into pimps and they have to feel like dependents.

If you don’t believe in Jesus you cannot wear a shirt with “the devil” or promoting evil JoE Rogan. Because the devil came from the teaching of the Bible and Jesus.

James Rivera the devil actually comes from the Jewish tradition, and predates jesus by 5000+ years with the Hebrew oral tradition dating back millennia.

Jesus he seems so cool to talk to. Such an awesome conversationalist. Extremely humble, pure, wise, and honest with himself. Even with a net worth of around $400,000,000 he sounds like an every day man.

Interesting discussion. People are abdicating responsibility for themselves by just accepting what the doctor wants to prescribe. For a couple of what I thought were not serious injuries, I am consistently stunned by the offering of what I consider strong pain meds to manage the pain. No thank you.

I really like this interview more than I thought I would but I had to pause at 53:06... Now, I'm no expert in determining if someone is lying, but in my personal experience people who have been traumatized by abuse will react to an accusation in the way Dr. Phil asserts that a liar will react. Over explaining, excessive defensiveness, pleading their personality, traumatized people will do all of that because they have learned to delay abuse that way when being accused of our blamed for things they have no control over.
