I have a theory of why there are alebrijes in a movie that is based on the celebration of "day of the dead" When Pedro had his fever dream he could have theoretically travelled to the 'land of the dead' (since he was so close to death himself) were he saw the alebrijes and that is why Disney included them They must have had the same theory or idea

The guy who created alejibres was probably so sick that he could have died and came back to life. The alejibres could have been protecting him while he was sick, followed him into the afterlife to make sure he crossed over safely, and would ward away evil spirits. That might also explain why everyone else had alejibres except the people who were being forgotten. Maybe being forgotten was their final resting place and was actually them reaching "The other side" and not in limbo. The alejibres stick around until then. The man could have witnessed a glimpse all the different 'animals' before he was revived. Thus bringing back with him the images, and Disney using them in association with El Dia de Los Muertos.

The name Josefa (women’s version of José) turns into Pepa (don’t ask me why) and then they use the diminutive “ita” to make Pepita which is a name that comes from another and so it does not mean seed. The noun pepita does mean seed but it hasn’t got anything to do with the monster’s name, although it’s funny to think of it in that way.

Pepita is not Coco's alebrije. It's Victoria's. 2nd pepita means one who is nosy. Ask anyone who doesn't mind their own business. The first thing they're called is pepita or pepito.
Anyway pepita was unable to be seen in the living world until the end when Victoria's picture is back on the ofrenda

I just thought of something... When he was talking about the character in the red hoodie (don't know the name), he said a word (he was saying his name, I think), SuperCarlinBrothers said "Marcos". I'm currently all about the cartoon "Star vs the forces of evil", so I, afcourse, instantly thought of Marco from the cartoon, and when I looked at the boy in the Coco movie, I found some similarities between him and Marco from SVTFOE:
    1. They're both clearly mexican
    2. They're both wearing a red hoodie (this was acually my first link between them)
    3. They have brown hair
    4. They have verry similar names (Marcos-Marco)
    5. In one of the cartoon episodes in season 1, or 2 (yes, it has multiple seasons), there's a skull with a flower drawn on it, found in the garden house. Sound familiar? It's also in a picture in this video! Now, this isn't really a similarity between Marcos and Marco, but it is a similarity between the cartoon and the Coco movie (also, I haven't watched COCO yet, so some other things might be conecting the movie and the SVTFOE cartoon!)
I hope you enjoyed my little theory about similarities between Marcos and Marco! I've launched a channel, that will, mostly, consist of various different games, that I will play (well, kind-of). It'll be mostly about Minecraft (gameplay; roleplays; mod reviews; adventure, puzzle, trivia... maps; and more!). It'll be one GIANT ROLEPLAYS -STYLE SERIES, and some other videos, related to various different things, too! I'll soon be making another video, so if you're interested in a brand-new, developing channel, come check-out Endy's adventures!

Alebrijes are also used to represent the lost and or dead spirits of children. Therefore families keep them and make them to remember the lost kids. These spirits also protect souls and dreams kinda like dreamcatchers. So they are related to Día de los Muertos, im sorry I just needed to clarify that 😭😐😊.
