When I clicked on this video, I thought it was gonna be about how the spirit guides were the monsters in the closet or something, from Monsters Inc. Oh well.

  • Little Blue Fox Artist

I’m gonna make a cartoon about a fantasy halloween world full of colorful, adorable, and mystical spirit animals such as a cute and silly black chihuahua-fox hybrid that is really hyper and likes candy but ends up getting her head cut off with a knife and candy bursts out like a piñata! Then she transforms into a magical, neon sparkly winged angel puppy all like “AwoOoOoohs!” while flying! 😜
*1 year later, Coco is released*

Brush this isn't a monster this a kinda like a spirit animal I don't think it has a word in Spanish but it refers to "espiritural animal del vino" meaning spiritual animal of wine it may sound weird but these animals are special coming from Mexico their is a legend behind these unique animals which are animals people in Mexico (maybe other Latin American countries) but these animals are legendary and originated from Mexico "brinda" if you don't know about the Mexican culture than don't make videos about my country calling these animals a "monster" when the legend says "if an animal dies their spirit will still live and will only be seen by those who believe" honestly if this was a monster people from Mexico would not even celebrate the day where they honor the dead animals out their that we still need

Bolsillomon! That sounds so genial xD I would totally buy that. Specially because it's something made in Mexico and sounds original and funny too, contrary to many other Mexican things that just try to copy foreign concepts and adapt them to Spanish language xD but seriously. I think alebrijes has such potential it could easily inspire and spawn a wide array of media, if only my people weren't so short sighted and had more of a business mind. I mean. Overexploitation of a concept to the point of getting sick of it is so common here! But if they just morphed the concept to make different presentations. Well, that would be a completely different way of explotation that wouldn't get old so fast.. Just think of the groot potted plants... Only made in cdmx and exported all over the country in the same format and without any formality, only sold on the streets, what kind of business model is that? Someone intelligent would be doing all sorts of pots for plants of various sizes and with various functions. Lights , fountains, pajareras, whatever, but.nope. Just sell the same thing until people get sick of it Fc also. Thank you for the history lesson! Another fail of my country, never actually teaching interesting origin stories like these that can give us insight on how things fail and new ideas to make them better. Your puns are so funny too xD

I have a theory of why there are alebrijes in a movie that is based on the celebration of "day of the dead" When Pedro had his fever dream he could have theoretically travelled to the 'land of the dead' (since he was so close to death himself) were he saw the alebrijes and that is why Disney included them They must have had the same theory or idea

The guy who created alejibres was probably so sick that he could have died and came back to life. The alejibres could have been protecting him while he was sick, followed him into the afterlife to make sure he crossed over safely, and would ward away evil spirits. That might also explain why everyone else had alejibres except the people who were being forgotten. Maybe being forgotten was their final resting place and was actually them reaching "The other side" and not in limbo. The alejibres stick around until then. The man could have witnessed a glimpse all the different 'animals' before he was revived. Thus bringing back with him the images, and Disney using them in association with El Dia de Los Muertos.

The name Josefa (women’s version of José) turns into Pepa (don’t ask me why) and then they use the diminutive “ita” to make Pepita which is a name that comes from another and so it does not mean seed. The noun pepita does mean seed but it hasn’t got anything to do with the monster’s name, although it’s funny to think of it in that way.
