    Hack 31:
    if you want an even surface when you bake the cake get a pan or a tray bigger then the cake pan and fill the bigger tray with water (about 1cm high) and put the cake pan in the water and bake it like that. It just prevents the cake from forming a dome.

    You have to soak the baking strips in water for 10-15 minutes before using them and then wring out some of the extra water before it putting them around the outside of the pan. I usually let it soak while I make the cake batter. I use them whenever I make cake and they work wonderfully when used correctly!

    Also the paper towel jack works after the frosting has started to set up a bit, if the frosting is still very wet then it won't work. I use that one

    I think the fabric strip is supposed to be wet to work. It acts as a buffer of heat to prevent doming.

    Is anyone gonna mention the fabric strips should be wet before they're put on the cake pan? The moisture helps with the insulation so if she didn't do that, that might've been why they didn't work for her.

    Hack 4 depends upon how old the egg is. If it's super old, it floats. Like, weeks old. This is because of a gas buildup inside of the egg.

    You're supposed to dampen the cake strip I believe, that's why it didn't work
