I feel terrible that their children had to cope with losing both parents within twelve hours. They must be reeling from this double whammy. No matter how old either the kids or the parents are, it's always a tough loss and takes about a year for the surviving family to adjust.

Instead of getting divorced after twenty years because the ex is sick of you! That's what marriage is all about patience and love.

We don't seem to want long term anything, but I would wish parenting to be taken more seriously, even when couples can't stay together. Too many damaged kids out there, unsupervised and addicted to technology.

i'm 24 of age and have been alone for far too long
never really committed towards relationship, obviously in high school
I brought my skills up, but being graduated 6-7 yrs than loosing a women I was close to
sucks....everyone deserves love, be patient, god has a plan, I know its not easy at times being
a strong healthy man that I Am, growing up playing sports my whole life, I just want someone
to hug and kiss. it gets old, and we as men have much more hormones than a women,
but I will push forward and continue to grow with the lord given this opportunity
being single for so long, its taught me how to be man....

There was an interesting comment on Newser this AM. When they got married the world population was 2.3 billion today it is 7.7 billion. These two people generated 50 extra human beings onto this planet. They only had 6 children. Imagine folks what it will be like 70 years from now. That is 2089. Almost mind numbing if these ancient reproductive practices continue. Love, affection and planet resource depletion does not sound like a happy ending for a match made in heaven.

    • Elizabeth Clover
      Elizabeth Clover 4 months ago

There is actually a population decline around the world now. In the US, the average is now less than two children per couple. In Japan, the population is expected to drop by 27 million by the year 2049, due to the declining birth rates.

      According to NPR:
"Around the globe, the fertility rate fell more than 50 percent, from 4.99 in 1960 to 2.44 by 2016, according to the World Bank."
