  • Ever wonder what grade gasoline should you use in your car (what octane)? Are you paying for premium gas when you can just use regular? Are you using regular and damaging your engine? This video will bust all of the myths and tell you the FACTS on what fuel you should use and why.
Many people throw money away and fill their car with the incorrect fuel every day. Running premium or midgrade in a car designed to run regular is a waste of money and has no HP or MPG benefits. You will not make more power or get better fuel economy running premium fuel if the car manufacturer tunes the car to use regular gas in most cases. I also see some people run regular gas in cars that need premium and the knock sensors have to adjust timing significantly to prevent damaging engine knock. I also hear a lot of people say that premium gasoline has more energy or burns cooler or slower so I will put a rest to all of these "myths" with facts.

I hope you guys like the animations and all the extras that went into this video! It took a while to do (you guys who follow me on Instagram know lol) but I think it is worth showing you examples instead of just taking my word for it! For those asking, here is where I got the fuel injector cleaner/tester: amzn.to/31kHwhk

this isn't really related to this video but one of my cars rear speakers is busted and i can't figure out how to get the panel over the speaker off. i have a 2008 Pontiac g6 gt 3.9l v6 hardtop convertible. i dont have the owners manual and have looked all over the internet for videos and nothing. i have even been on a Pontiac owners forum but they weren't much help. i was wondering if there was anyway you might be able to help with my problem? if not its cool.

Putting an additive like corn/ethanol is makes the gas mileage go down! High octane sales pitch is that they offer no ethanol blending.

My 2016 gmc Denali 5.3 uses 93 octane to pull a trailer. If I use 87 it will detonate. I don’t get better mileage by using 93, actually worse, just smoother performance at redline with 7800lb going up a hill.

In my country there is no such thing as 87, we only have 89 (95 and variants) and 93 (98 and variants). We don't have the ship stuff... :'( *cries in Octane*

My 2004 BMW 325i was only getting 15 mpg and always had very low power.
I had this car for 3 years.
I put some fuel injector cleaner in the tank. Didn't notice any difference.
However, after a while on the next tank full it suddenly had what felt like a Doubling in power!
It actually pushes me back in the seat now.
I haven't checked the mileage yet, but I assume I should be getting around 20 mpg or more.
I didn't think it would really make much difference.
For around $10, it's worth trying.

If you put the 93 in a Prius will it hurt it ? We have had 5 ( accidents caused by bad drivers, among other reasons - a long story ) and once we sell our current 2007 we will be buying a better one with way less mileage.
I appreciate the steering wheel clock video.
Our passenger side airbag light is one and the dealer says it needs to be replaced or reset, I forget which. The car came like that when we bought it. I have no idea how to do it.
But I know a lot about Priuses after having so many of them.

@ChrisFix I did. Which means that the myth is half true. "Weaker" fuel is sold in USA, but so is fuel with a higher octane. The european regular is RON95 (PON 89), but there is no RON91 (PON87) in europe.

We have 85 where I live. 87 is "mid grade" here. And then we have 91 as the "premium" option. I think this all depends on the locality or laws. My owners manual for my 2004 Ford Ranger says to use 87, so that is what I have always used.

Here in Europe, Romania to be exact, prices for low octane (95) is 1.30$ per liter. (1gallon = 3.7l) so it’s 4.81$ / gallon .
