Imagine doing, "The Last White Man in Europe".
For a movie that talks about blacks, the house that they showed couldn't be more European regarding decoration and house aesthetics.
I thought that we were all one and the same, interchangeable and all that. Guess that only works one way.

Born in the City working out there again I see that our impact is being attempted to be stripped, we having too move cause of the expense etc. It’s crazy that the a already mitigated displaced people the trend of intentional conflict of interest displacement continues. If we don’t step up and put the same importance the Chinese Mexican Filipinos etc place on togetherness we will fall like they want us to they want to strip that racial/ethnic identify of us and make our pride be centered in patriotism and the nation’s we either were taking to or circumstances guided us to. BLACK ECONOMICS AND BLACK LOVE Is how keep our power and weather the attacks ✊🏿

Forget being about a black man in San Francisco! You couldn't be a sane, straight, family-value, decent man with virtue and morals living in San Francisco nowadays!! The devil and his minions got that city on lockdown!!

  • Transfectingood J
    Transfectingood J 5 days ago

I know the movie isn't necessarily political and saying "stop gentrification now!" but I see a lot of comments about this...what exactly are realistic proposed solutions? Ban companies that make certain profits per year? Ban all new startups? Ban any new tech companies coming to the area?

  • Rapture Remembered
    Rapture Remembered 5 days ago

This is an outrageous piece of garbage. What a total lie of a film. Last time I went to San Francisco, a place dear to my heart, I was constantly harassed by blacks when I had to walk down this one street. They were simply sitting outside on the sidewalk, having their building and lifestyle paid for by the government and all the good white folk no doubt. This is NOT your city, and it never will be. Save your sob story for the idiots who buy it.

    • agricolaregs
      agricolaregs 2 days ago

Insightful Shawn that’s a really good point. But I would like to see someone address that out West, 7/10 black men are displaced from jobs due to illegal immigration. I think it was San Francisco that actually published those findings, but I’ll have to find that source again. It was either SF or San Diego. But I like your point. Because how do you change how kids will perceive themselves and opportunities, not by seeing AA men struggle in our media but be successful. Really good point. But I still want to see this movie.

  • Publik Channel

Is this movie treated with respect, have expert storytelling to weave a compelling narrative that has black identity in it, or does this pander to racial identity/politics and white people bad?
I want to like it, and every shot looks beautiful, but I’m concerned given the trailer that its core messages are a little too on the nose with the subversion and subliminal messaging of identity politics disguised as a cinematic masterpiece.
I really want to be wrong.

Awesome fucking movie. Saw at BAM last night with the cast and director in attendance. Reminds me of Barry Jenkins in its lyricism. This is the personal story of what actually DID happen to Jimmie Fails. Fails is one eloquent man, as is Rob Morgan, who plays his dad. Jonathan Majors who plays Montgomery is a FORCE to reckon with. Joe Talbot who directed this has created a masterwork along with the cinematographer and composer. Really awesome.

10000 years and the continent of Africa has produced maybe 3 advancements for humanity. MAYBE. Now for the USA blacks.... 200+ years and trillions upon trillions of dollars spent on prenatal health, child delivery, child rearing, education, food, housing, transportation, programs from A to Z EXPLICITLY spent on saggy pantsed nut grabbing dindo nuffins, and I am supposed to tear up because THIS 6th generation of blacks in San Francisco still haven't achieved a single shred of educational success which would have lead to them being able to live in San Francisco? And oh, by the way do they break and enter in the trailer and I am supposed to feel for them? This is why my family is armed. Fkn unbelievable what the liberal mentality has indoctrinated into blacks and youth in general.
