Seems like a down to earth person. Hope he doesn’t become another narcissistic Hollywood arsehole.

He seems really nice, but Matthew Rhys deserved it, because Bodyguard was terrible, imo.

+Adya Singh What is your problem? Rhys already got the Emmy and the Critics Choice, so you can't say he isn't appreciated enough. You sound like one of those butthurt TV snobs who can't tolerate the idea that their favourite show or actor is not as popular as others. Bodyguard was far from perfect (no show is), but Madden delivered a career-making performance that was well deserved and overdue. And btw Bodyguard has almost exactly the same ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and Imdb as Killing Eve or Patrick Melrose. So the general consensus is that it is a very good show.

+old yellerI found the concept really dated. It's like 2009 called, and they want their plotline back.
      • The whole brooding, jaw-tightening,surly yet extremely proficient bodyguard played by Madden was so irritating. I get it. You are intense and have "seen" some things.
•The bitchy, slightly spoilt female politician, who is a jerk to others and seems like a hardass, but is sometimes nice to the bodyguard.
      • Something traumatic happens and then they hook up with each other.
Like it doesn't get more tropey than this.
Then of course after she dies, it's the whole unravelling of the pitiable "mysteries" ( Nadia was the real mastermind, and his boss was leaking the info )yawn.
Honestly, it is blatant islamophobia and classic "bodyguard-female principal" cliché wrapped up in action sequences.
If this were 2011, i would have watched it and maybe enjoyed. But for 2018, after all the incredible series that we have had like The Americans, Breaking Bad, GoT, The Good Place, My Crazy Ex-Gf (a musical about mental health!), Grace and Frankie, Big little lies, and so on, to be served this...something done better by the first couple of seasons of Homeland, is pathetic. Bodyguard is stale like green, mouldy old bread.
But the very fact that it had such mass appeal, proves to me that it simply isn't good enough. From popular music to films to series to books...if the whole world seems to love it, it has to be lacking some sort of intelligence.
Sorry if this was harsh and you actually liked the series, but asked me why!
