FYI to the viewer- this is completely inaccurate information on fire agate. It's just a rookie having fun rockhounding. As far as that, it's a good video. Keep doing what you're doing, but please don't teach misinformation. Thanks for sharing

Honestly we appreciate the corrections. It helps us be better rockhounders whenever we get the opportunity.

@Finding Fulfillment I meant no disrespect. There is so much that I don't know. Fire agate isn't one of them. You have to really dig for info when studying fire agate. I started my passion of them several years ago when there was little to no shared knowledge of them. I truly believe it is one of the most underrated gems on the planet, for lack of exposure and marketing. So, the exposure it does get needs to be accurate. Just my opinion. Thanks again for sharing

Back in the late 70s we used to get some very nice stuff there.... Perhaps I need to go back and look around.

The actual name for what you're calling 'pixie' quartz is **drusy** or **druzy** quartz. :) Like your video, I adore fire agate!

I'm pretty sure the pronunciation will be forever corrected in these comments. It's interesting that even the corrections sound different.

Yeah. It's the most common comment I got. If I make another video I'll try to get it right.

I noticed that the sparkling rock had already been disturbed, why fake the finds

I don't understand. These rocks end up on the ground just like this in the area. Other people go rockhounding here and may have touched this one in particular before.

Lol neat spot, but the camera frame-rate makes me feel like I'm on something when you're pannin around the rocky ground.

I realized I'm recording and exporting at nearly 60fps. I wonder if it's some conflict between the actual video frame rate and youtube. Either that or maybe change the video quality settings on your TVclip video and see if that helps any.

I hear ya! I'm still working on editing my first video (other than the blurry, un-edited video I have up). Keep at it tho!

Thirst Fast I'll try to record at a higher frame rate next time. Still learning about video/TVclip.

I don't know if you're doing it on purpose, but just fyi chalcedony is pronounced "kal-sid-nee".

Thirst Fast Its so interesting to learn how different it is rockhounding at different places.

Hmmm, around here we pronounce it "kal'-sed-o-nee". Tomatodony, tomotodony. Neat spot though. I pick my agates on beaches where the outcrop is amygdular basalt, so nothing at all like this.

Lifesplanations it's one of those words that if you've only ever read it you have no idea how to correctly pronounce it. Believe me, you're not the only one to pronounce it that way. Good video, cheers.
