Thank you, thank you and thank you again ! Now the weather is better so much better I absolutely need to get a "touch up" sunscreen. Being totally honest, this will only be my 2nd summer of using a sunscreen as part of my skincare. I'm 58 and this necessity wasn't EVER discussed. I'm so grateful for this vid, (did I say "thank you? " 😉🤣🤣) much love to you, 💛❣❣❣💛

You are SO very welcome. It makes me so happy when my videos make a difference. I know this is not a sexy, trending topic, but it is so very important. I'm very glad that you have incorporated SPF into your routine. It is never too late to start in my opinion. Have a most lovely day Chrissy!

What a fantastic concept. I'll be picking up asap. My skin in very fair, both of my parents had skin cancer and I was told at a very young age that I was predisposed to it. Thank you so much for sharing these options, for your research and explaining how to properly use them, and most of all for raising skin cancer awareness. You are saving lives. Much love to you. - xx, Carla

👏 👏I always wear suncscreen in the morning but definitely need something to be able to reapply during the day with my full face makeup. I tried the Supergoop spf mist last year but didn't like it. I'm going to try a powder when the weather is nice enough to spend all day outside.

@YayOrNayNicole Ya that's one I had looked for but I saw a few reviews of people not liking it so glad I didn't pick it up. I also tired a spray for over makeup from Vichy and it wasn't good either :( Bummer

      Hi Gracie,
I tried the Kate Somerville SPF 50 setting spray and really don’t like it at all. I’m currently just spraying it on my chest in the back of my hands every day ha ha. So glad this powdered sunscreens are out! Thank you so much for watching. 😃

I think these are great for an on the go touch up and the plus is they will not melt in the car, lol, you know years ago there was a lot of talk Bareminerals said/say they have natural sunscreen in their powder and then the government I guess made them start putting a exp. date because of the sunscreen part, I hope that makes sense, they never mentioned this but I started noticing there was a date on it and contacted them and that is what they told me! I hope you are doing great! XOXO

So true. I had a basal cell carcinoma removed a few months ago. Little freckle like mark before removal is now a big old scar. Not fun. Luckily it's on the side of my forehead near the hair line. Guess I didn't rub my sunscreen into my hair.

@YayOrNayNicole I was healing well and then all of sudden started getting a lump where she cut. Turned out the lump was pus. I thought I was getting a keloid or hypotrophic scar from the surgery. The good news is after I performed the hot compresses, the lump popped open and pus came out and scar flattened. Now I'm on the fence about going in. It seems to be healing again. Will just keep my eye on it. Already cost me near $500 after insurance paid there part. Don't want to go in and just get antibiotic since I am now using one myself. I told my Mom, I have to wonder if the little dot sized basal would of ever got this bad. I didn't try the scar gels because I wanted to keep the area clean (must of failed at that). I am actually going to have a pretty good scar from what I can tell at this point (one of the pros from putting the stitches under the skin). This is 4 months later. I think the complication (cons) was from putting the stitches under the skin. My body must of been rejecting them.

I had the same issue. I was missing an area of my upper lip when I applied each day. :( Are you having any luck with scar creams? I've heard good things about some of them although I do not have personal experience with any.

Thank you for doing the research and demo. I have been sitting in the fence about getting sunscreen powder but I am now convinced. I just have to find it at the best price point here in Canada.

Hi Jocelyne, I'm so happy that you liked the video. The Derma e is currently on sale (30%) at Ulta. I'm not sure how that translates in Canada but in the US it is now USD15.37. I have the link in the info area below the video. Happy Monday :) -Nicole

Hi Nicole, Thanks for doing this video and comparing the products. I was just making a decision between those you mentioned or my It cosmetics celebration foundation with the SPF of 50. Any thoughts?

    • Debbie Swindell
      Debbie Swindell 6 months ago

@YayOrNayNicole Good point! It could be very cakey over a day.

    • YayOrNayNicole
      YayOrNayNicole  6 months ago +2

Hi Debbie, I have the IT Cosmetics Celebration foundation with the SPF50. The difference with that powder vs. these, is that is gives a lot of coverage. I will use the Celebration Foundation if I have a very light coverage foundation and want to beef it up or to hit my chin (where I somehow always wear off my foundation) for some extra lasting powder but if I put it all over my face as a SPF touch-up after I have all of my makeup on (blush, highlighter, bronzer etc) it will change the look of my makeup so I do not use it for that. Hope your week is off to a great start! :)

I just had a basal cell carcinoma. I had it biopsied and Thursday , I'll have it removed. 😫 I use a spf 100 sunscreen. I'll be getting a powder one now. I'm going to talk to my dermatologist about retin A too.

@YayOrNayNicole I have to wonder if requesting the internal stitches caused me the extended healing period. Thank you for making the video. I started using the sunscreens too late in life. Maybe mine was from early childhood days. It's the first one I ever had, and now I'm a little paranoid are more coming.

Hi Tracy, Wishing you all the best with the removal! I figured out that where I had my pre-cancer spots is where my fingers missed when I'd rub on my sunscreen. I was putting it on my upper lip but just missed those spots so now I have to be extra vigilant to get it there. I really like these powders a lot! Have a good one! -Nicole

@M Wall I thought it was a little cyst. Right there on my chin 🤦 he said it should do more than the biopsy did.

    • M Wall
      M Wall 6 months ago +1

Tracy, I had mine removed in December. It was a miniature freckle like size that kept crusting/peeling over. I showed it to my Derm. She didn't think it was anything but took the biopsy. Turned out to be basal cell carcinoma. Had it removed and internal stitches. It's on the side of my forehead next to the hairline. She did the internal stitches. I think it got infected. Had to use warm compress and neosporin. This is 4 months later and still struggling with the healing. It's really a nasty scar and I'm just lucky it's on the part of the face that is not that noticeable. Good luck with your removal and healing. Talk to your Doctor about getting the best possible scar. I hear Mohs surgery produces the best result scar wise. I had regular removal.
