General Election: Business minister refuses to reveal Tory spending plans

  • Published on Nov 10, 2019
  • The Sunday newspapers were full of figures for the Labour Party's supposed spending plans.
They claimed Jeremy Corbyn would cost the country £1.2tn over five years.
But where did that figure come from? Is it really that accurate? And what are the Conservatives' corresponding spending plans?
Conservative Business Minister Kwasi Kwarteng was less than forthcoming.

Btw the Labour manifesto if people read it, has been completely costed so it is not reckless spending. The Tories are just a joke.

I agree with Diane Abbot. We need labour in power to tame racism, which is mainly from white people atm. White people need to learn this is no longer just your country, it is not the Britian that was, it is a country full of people from different countries. It is now a Multiculteral country. VOTE LABOUR :-)

Brexiteers have been enslaved by the EU.
they can't go anywhere without EU permission.
they are always being watched by EU's secret service.
In the 21st-century, the EU has taken control of the lives of Brexiteers and turned them into indentured labourers.
without the permission of the EU, the Brexiteers cannot take a shower, use the toilet, have breakfast or go to sleep.
poor Brexiteers are being brutalised, beaten, arrested, harassed and persecuted and have their women raped by the fascist state of EU and the world and the UNO are silent at this human tragedy.
now there is talk that the EU is planning to send them to concentration camps.
Brexiteers are suffocating under the EU rules and regulations and need a champion like Joan of Arc to lead them to freedom from the EU.

Kwasi is only interested in lying about Labour than give the truth about the Tory position. This has been the most inefficient run of governments ever Johnson, May and Cameron have made us the laughing stock of the world, their record is like this, massive mental health problems, record illegal non EU immigration, record knife crime, record abuse of taxi licencing, record abuse of rental prpoerty, record companies going bust, and great big mess over brexit leading to 300,000 job losses.

  • Freddy
    Freddy 24 days ago +1

Tories full of lies as usual.
Boris and all the Tory newspapers said 'We are going to build 41 new hospitals' turns out it is 4 which were already in the pipeline. But anyway, why the flip build more hospitals when the NHS needs 40,000 nurses and 60,000 doctors - that is the reality and need Boris wants to deflect from.

    • dinkydaz67
      dinkydaz67 23 days ago

Freddy it's pretty simple maths stop immigration and work migration sorry if it's not pc enough but "we are full up"
But this aids our greedy government as they keep getting a little bit of vat or tax from every individual so it adds up to big bit
look what's happened in two decades, another 10 million that's not natural growth no wonder the NHS are struggling but population is never mentioned

The classic interview. Speak for Ten Minutes and say absolutely Nothing. If Brexit is taking back control & making our own Decisions then this poor excuse for an MP is every reason to Remain. Typical Westminster Muppet who Still thinks he can bribe & Lie to the Electorate. Nothing changes with these Numpties, and they have dumped the sensible crowd to recruit More Thickies like this one. England deserves it´s ruling class.

  • Christian O. Holz
    Christian O. Holz 24 days ago +5

A 4 day week is a sensible idea in many areas of industry. This idea that one has to be in an office or other place of work in order to be productive is outdated. With automation we need to work towards better business models. Studies have shown that many workers are as or more productive when they have more free time got families and their own pursuits. It improves health by reducing stress if done right reducing cost to the health sector as well.
This clown is following the tried and true method of deflection. Not providing a straight answer to the question being put to him.
I do like the host. She seems to have a sharp mind and she looks sharp as well.

Christian O. Holz i work here in United States,California to be exact and I have a 4 day schedule and many other jobs and companies have moved and many other companies are moving to a 4 day work week. As a result the economy is doing great and overall happiness/morale amongst the population is up. I suggest the idea for my fellow Brits!

a corbyn government represents a once in a generation opportunity to create a more just society for everyone after a decade of crippling austerity. don't give in to fear, don't listen to the lies. focus on what matters: reversing the horrific cuts and rampant inequality that has fuelled deprivation and division and immiserated millions. and don't be fooled by the empty words of yellow tories - the lib dems are NOT your allies and have nothing to say about the country outside of their anti-democratic policy of revoking article 50. vote swinson, get johnson; vote corbyn, get the tories out.
