  • You probably first saw Viggo Mortensen in Witness, but you probably remember his name from The Indian Runner or Crimson Tide or GI Jane or a little series called Lord of the Rings. He has been twice nominated for Oscar, most recently for his turn in the family drama, Captain Fantastic. He spoke to David Poland when the film was being released.
Shot in Los Angeles, June 2016

7:10 I love Viggo but he has a very Scandinavian way of showing that he is irritated.

If I could defined this is like dancing. In step in front one behind then one to the side.
.yup living is like dancing ... Hard to find good partners most times. Is amazing try to teach human nature to a innocent curious mind. Thank you. Love , light, life.

I love when AMAZING actors are open to talking about their process. Class act.

  • Hill Billy Entertainment

Love the actor, he was awesome in the movie "The Road" but this movie was an ideological piece of crap, sorry.

Saying Captain Fantastic is ideological is like saying Wolf of Wall Street glorifies criminal greed. It presents that hippie lifestyle but it doesn't promote it.

Viggo is one of the best. The most mysteriously charismatic actor who ever graced the silver screen. His performance in Eastern Promises stands out as one of the all time greats.

In the Islamic world, a person caught stealing can be sentenced to having his-her hand chopped off. Do liberals really want that kind of society developijng in the west under the guise of "multi-culturalism and mass migration? Is that what liberals like Viggo really want. Because that's what will happen.Never-ending migration and ideology multi-culturalism, whereby you allow the immigrant community to live as if they are still living in their own native land, will eventually end up living like the immigrant community wants. And that is what liberals don't understand. Just look at areas of British towns if you don't believe me. P.S. Multi-national corporate media, have attacked western people and culture for decades. to hell with'em

Cellphone is ringing, door gets opened, camera is shaking, some crewmember is putting his arm inside the camera frame.... Those things make that great interview look kind of unprofessional.

yeah, and he looks a bit a annoyed by it all. The interviewer should have apologized a tried to make it more of a comfortable environment for an interview - especially when the subject matter is so heavy.

We'll see, I hope you're wrong. The Academy shouldn't just copy&paste the results from other award shows. Viggo FTW!

    • Mr. Tulip

I honestly think that Casey Affleck has his win locked down. Viggo was definitely one of the stronger performances out of the five nominees, but I would bet the Oscar either goes to Affleck for Manchester or Andrew Garfield for (officially) Hacksaw Ridge and (unofficially) Silence.

    • T.
      T. 2 years ago +2

Why? Do you think the other nominees did a better job, I don't think so. Casey Affleck's acting was bland, Andrew Garfield's role was way too cheesy, Ryan Gosling same, Denzel already won 2 oscars. Viggo deserves this one imo.
