Total Solar Eclipse (2017)

  • The total solar eclipse from Madras, Oregon on August 21, 2017. As the moon passed in front of the sun turning day to night and revealing the sun's corona, apparently all I could think to say was 'Oh my goodness!'

Everyone says not to photograph your first solar eclipse and I think they might be right. I was focused on getting the exposure right for Bailey's beads and the diamond ring, plus making sure to get the corona and solar flares. This was a bit stressful but I'm delighted with the results.
This video originally included more info but since I'm uploading from Madras where the internet is sluggish, I cut out three minutes so the upload would happen before I had to leave for my flight.
Special thanks also to Dr. Teagan Wall for sharing this experience with me and Raquel Nuno for inspiring me to come to Oregon.

Fake video (you can see there is light in the sky) then you edit the video and add a photo of fake eclipse, why you didnt zoom directly, why you stop the video to show this fake photo, the real eclipse is a small orb not the moon.
Guys search for the real source not this cgi shits

@KS Beats: Such as? So you've seen the earth not moving anywhere? Really? How did you do that? I thought all flatters need to take a pledge to believe space is fake.
So, it would appear that your insanity continues - obviously you just claimed something that you didn't see for yourself.

    • Kit Canyon

Partial eclipses happen more often but total eclipses happen somewhere on the earth about every 18 to 24 months.

I saw totality from this eclipse over in Tennessee. This gives me chills to watch because it reminds me exactly how I felt when I saw it. Its hard to wrap your head around, even when its happening right in front of you, and it quite literally took my breath away. One of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed. Incredible. We took photos/video as well but seeing totality in person is the only way to do it any justice.

How is the moon the exact same size as the sun?

    • Kit Canyon
      Kit Canyon 14 days ago

They aren't - just have a similar angular size from our viewpoint. But even eclipses are not the same as it depends on the earth and moon's orbits. Sometimes they are further away and thus you will see a ring of light left.
How are you not able to learn about this stuff yourself?

    • KS Beats
      KS Beats 19 days ago

      They are ;-)
No Heliocentric experiment "scaled" could reproduce this effect.
But a round cardboard with the same radius of a Flashlight will.
Just pass the disc in front of the Flashlight really close. Try out different distances.
It fits it 1 to 1.

Did you see the moon approaching the sun? and then did you see the moon in sky after the eclipse? Wondering why NOBODY SAW THE MOON UNTIL IT STARTED ECLIPSE.. usually we can see the moon in the sky with the 🌞??

    • william kobow
      william kobow 13 days ago

If I'm deflecting your projecting...I ASKED SIMPLE QUESTION WHERE WAS MOON IN ITS APPROACH AND YOU HAD TO BE A DICK..GOOD THING I DONT CROSS PATH WITH TOUGH GUYS 👍 LIKE YOU IN THE STREET...TAKE CARE OH AND BE SAFE

    • Kit Canyon
      Kit Canyon 14 days ago

@william kobow : Well, there is no one saving ignorant people like you. And no, I'm not a religious person at all. Nice try. What other lame "deflecting" do you have?
Still can't figure out an eclipse? Why is that?
Are you so lame that you can't even explain why it occurs?

    • william kobow
      william kobow 14 days ago

You probably believe he's gonna save you

    • Kit Canyon
      Kit Canyon 14 days ago

      @william kobow : Christ....
That is because the moon's portion that is seen is in the sunlight. Can you draw a diagram? I realize that you probably believe the earth is flat, but that doesn't preclude flatters from the responsibility of fully understanding that which they don't believe in.
And all planets and moons in this solar system will have exactly half of their surfaces in sunlight (except when being blocked by another nearby body). However, our viewpoint here on earth isn't from the sun's point of view. Thus, the phases of the moon are dependent upon where the moon is in relation to the earth during its orbit.
Wait. Don't tell me you don't know how the moon's phases are created. Wow. In that case, here's some more education.

Ok genius 👍...so if the sun luminates the moon, then why can I see a half moon in sky and THE SUN AT SAME TIME? Shouldn't the moon be FULL IF LIT BY THE SUN? WELL THATS WHAT WE BEEN TAUGHT WHICH IS BS. THE MOON IS ITS OWN LIGHT!! YEAH EXPLAIN THAT...WE SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE MOON APPOACHING THE PATH TO SUN AND ALSO LEAVING IF NOT A NEW MOON...AS FOR YOUR INSULT YOU TRULY HAVE NO IDEA. GOOD THING KARMA IS REAL

  • Brian David Andersen

In August of 2017 me, my two brothers Brad & Kevon, sister-in-law Debbie and a slew full of cousins were in the home state of our parents Keith and Vonnie. We witnessed the total eclipse of the Sun in Grand Island, Nebraska - ground zero of the eclipse.
Two years later the pictures still are a mystery but do they answer very important questions?
How did the Sun move in front of the moon after the total eclipse? A sun millions of miles and away and millions of miles in diameter could not have performed such a feat but...a sun that is at a very close orbit near the moon and near the same size as the moon most certainly did..
    Enjoy

I guarantee Space X, NASA and their Jesuit masters do not have any kind of logical response to these pictures with their ridiculous globe earth theory.
