Would you mind doing a video figuring out weather you have a bad starter, flywheel/flexplate, battery, solenoid/relay?

Like would you explain what symptoms on all of the variables? Id love to know to get down to the the point and be able to know whats means what. Also, when a starter just grinds on the flywheel (binding/rubbing) but not turning the engine over.

Ive had this happen to me with BOTH starters from Orilles and Advanced auto parts.

Scotty I have a 2009 Toyota Avalon didn’t want to crank, after multiple tries it cranks and turns on. Replaced the starter and now it’s kind of doing the same thing except it won’t crank on the first try, but it for sure will on the second try. Is it posible that a bad
Computer may cause this versus the starter?

What does it mean if you hit the starter and that doesn't work? I'm trying to figure out why my 2003 Kia Sedona won't start. Replaced the battery and pretty sure it's the starter But not sure. Have been broke down for days and can't afford a tow and high auto shop repairs. And kinda difficult since I live in the van with my pets. Any advice would be helpful....

Hi Scotty. Have just changed my starter over to a new one (your video was helpful, thanks). The new one seems to sound different and is a fair bit louder - it just sounds like a loud "whirrr" and then a high pitched spinning sound after the engine is done turning over (sounds like the starter is 'spinning down' for a second). Is any of this normal?

hi I have a question my car has good tires but when it rains and I get up to about 50 mph it starts to slide to the right any ideas why

    • Scotty Kilmer
Scotty Kilmer  2 years ago +1

have the alignment checked , also check ALL 4 tires as worn back ones can do that too. Rain problems are generally tire problems, as alignment generally does the same wet or dry

Yesterday my car started fine 2 times. But in evening it started at 3rd atemp. I parked it on slope just in case. This morning I tried to start. It cranks motor for half turn and then slips out. I can hear electric motor spining, but no crank. Then I started it on slope (jumpstart) and I could hear it gringing at first, and then it stoped grinding. Car drives just fine.
Can I repair it or I need new starter?

    • Scotty Kilmer
