I can’t even believe Pricilla listened to Mario Lanza,His home in Hollywood was right next door to my cousins house. The only reason l new of him was because he was brought up in a conversation.Pricilla is only a few yrs older than me.Thinking back on the music then Were Elvis, sharells,Dion,Beach Boys etc.l May of been in the no because l have an older brother.

Anthony you can't judge Elvis, How dear you! All the things you call him
Take a good look at your family and yourself , tell me how you would feel
If someone say the same thing about your Mother/ father / sisters would
It be OK, the only person that can Judge is the Lord God, remember that
So next time you say such rotten things about someone remember your
Parents. Never You judge anyone, you are not qualified !!!!!!!!!!

I love their love story but I cannot believe her parents let her stay with him at Graceland - with the rest of his family - when she was going on 16 years old. Aint that like a red flag going on in a parent's head like "HELLLL NOOOO!!" Wow but like she said in that one interview in 1980, her parents had this arrangement with Elvis that she stay there - finish school - while her family were still in Germany... But still :-(

Dale Midkiff may not look like Elvis, but I think his performance is pretty bang on here. Dale also played Louis (the doctor/husband/father) in Stephen King's '80s horror classic (I can't believe I'm actually calling the movies I grew up with 'classics' now, lol.), "Pet Sematary"... and we aaalll know how sick and twisted that freakin' movie is. GAH!! :P

  • Tricob1974
    Tricob1974 3 years ago +8

The first 9 minutes of the movie really aren't all that great, but after that, it's amazing how much better the movie is; it's like the work was suddenly handed over to a much better producer when it relocates to Germany. Both the script and the performances improve dramatically. The movie does leave out a lot of interesting parts: During a slow spot in Elvis's popularity, he goes out in public and no one recognizes him. The event is never brought up once in the movie - just that his popularity isn't all that great at the time. The movie probably isn't very faithful to the bio it's based on, and it's been said by some that the bio isn't 100% accurate. This is something I can live with personally; instead of being fact-based, it's based instead on someone's perspective of the facts. I always found that more interesting, and I feel it sparks more interesting conversation.

What seems wrong in this movie is that Elvis Presley was by all accounts a very nice guy. The man who started to dress him for the 68 special said he had no ego at all - nicest guy he ever worked for. They should have used Presley's actual music because this was just lukewarm. But in one regard, you don't have to be a psychiatrist to see that Presley loved his wife - and when she was part of his life - he looked happy. But he was kind to people. Always.

I used to feel the same way but over the past few months, I'd watched another Elvis movie starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and also did some research on him and I realized he wasn't so bad, he just had a lot of crazy fans and crap. His music's not bad and I actually have some of his music on my ipod.

I haven't watched this film yet, I tend to avoid docudramas because they always take the liberty to add things that didn't happen or change details of things that did for the sake of a tidy storyline. I notice though that Jerry Schilling is credited as a "Technical Advisor" on this film. That doesn't suggest he had anything to do with the story, but in fact he was one of Elvis' best friends. I HIGHLY recommend his book Me and a Guy Named Elvis to anyone interested in Elvis or Priscilla.

    Good movie.
Too bad Elvis did not write a book about his life.
I'm sure it would have been true but I don't think he would have talked about the drug use unless he had lived for many more years and wrote it later.
The best life story would have come from the "King" himself.
