What Android P feature are you most excited about?

    • michael eze
      michael eze Month ago

J3 Prime there is no new new or exciting changes made.. it's the same old lollipop/mashmallow they have been playing with colors and shapes. I have been using android for years but anytime i hold an iphone it always seems easy to use, refreshing, simple, clean and not lagging. and these are things android needs to focus and fix. There material design is awesome but 1) its lags a lot especially for phones below 3gb ram.. i use 2gb and the experience is not welcoming. their apps are heavy. i have a 16gb rom with dedicated 7gb to the OS but after installing just 9 necessary apps, my storage becomes filled with no space. 2) speaking of user experience i am not a begin fan of their window animations (sluggish slide down on existing and slide up ) it needs to change. Android needs to improve on animation and gesture, especially with iphone x gesture slide for app drawer and all and get rid of all the buttons. i want to see more use of border-radius and blur effects. So many things i could write about here though. There are few launchers ex yandex, aviate, but over a long time of those apps running on the phone, the phone begins to lag then you are back to default launcher..trying hard to improve the experience. To me i think Samsung TouchWiz has the best user experience, and has tried hard to modify android so far but other than that, i haven't seen anything new on the android P that wows me

Look, Android P may be cool, but i didn't like the new interface. Everything is rounded, colorful and ugly, Android 5 to 8 was more pretty and material design...

Give this Android P the entire BlackBerry 10 interface and you end up with the BEST Android version of all time. BB10 is highly intuitive & intelligent. And ensure you have the legendary BlackBerry HUB integrated into the OS.

android is starting to look worse and worse. It has departed from function and started shifting to pure aesthetic. Give us built in dark mode so we don't have to rely on AOSP forks, give us tablet nav-bar support in base AOSP like on the Pixel C, restructure the UI so that it is more information condensed, Clean up settings so that it is more organized and linear, optimize the google play services so they are more like they were in at least 2015 (2017+ GPlay services are such a massive leap in terms of battery drainage and slow down compared to even 2015/2014 GPlay services), bring back the old battery stats!
This is why I just use Sailfish, because at least I can agree with 99% of the things in the UI, and I know UI is subjective, but base functionality and things like dark-mode have been asked for since iOS 7 in 2013, and then Android L in 2014, every time an OEM introduces an all white or bright UI people ask for an optional dark mode and android is one of the few that has yet to deliver on even an experimental way of doing this, even Windows 10 has a dark UI mode hidden in the registries (and recently integrated in settings).

Ummm huh? This have been a a thing forever. Am I missing something here?

The lack of devices updated to Oreo is in no way the fault of Google, it's the hardware manufacturers that still feel the need to shove their own modified UI's onto Android as well as the cellular providers demanding ridiculous secondary inspections of the updates before letting them through. Every new Android update is available to all devices, it's what the people mentioned above do with them before letting them onto your phone is what's delaying major updates.

Project treble should help the updates, but it doesn't matter if the manufacturer don't care. I think Huawei is making some effort into that. Samsung will probably release for their current flagships in 2019. Maybe 1+ 5/T will get it, but this update mess is really depressive. If you don't have a Pixel you don't know :/
