I duct taped my computer case...Here's what happened

  • Applying duct tape to 0%, 75%, and 90% of the case's main ventilation area and testing several factors like temperatures, noise and frame rates. The results are mostly predictable, but interesting no less!

One could call this a worst CASE scenario. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaah

      ThisIsBunny Gaming 25 days ago

Nope....worst case scenatio is having a 3x480mm rads for your cpu only And having it running 50c idle when you turn on your heating in the winter while it runs 50c under 100% load in august

Try duct taping where you don't have fans instead.

You should do a video about how to make the best coding / general use PC. (Not for gaming, or video editing.) Should I focus on cores or clock speed to make Visual Studio run faster, or should I get faster ram, or lower ram timing? When searching PDF’s with ctrl + F I see some GPU usage (about 20%). Should I get a GPU with faster DDR6 memory (1660 Ti about $270 new) or a “better”one with DDR5 (1080 about $200 used)?

Hey bit so quick question. So I have a ryzen 3 2200 and a gtx 1060 6gig. If I upgrade my cup to a ryzen 7 2700 8-core 3.2 (4.1 overclocked) do you think I’d be able to stream without most of the tearing I get now. I’m very limited on what I can stream so I’m basically forced to play certain games I’m not good at and aren’t as entertaining just to be able to keep up with how much I wanna stream and how often I want to stream. Thank you for the help.

I would think showing a percent increase in °C (temperature) is really not appropriate. The Celsius scale is actually arbitrary. If you showed the results in °F (or K or R) you would get different % for the same actual change in temperature. A much better way would be to state the % change in the overall temperature rise (delta T) above the ambient temperature. So for example for the CPU the baseline delta T would be (82.6-22.8)=59.8°C. The 90% tape case delta T would be (92-22.8)=69.2°C. So the increase in delta T would be 69.2/59.8=1.157 or a 15.7% increase.

I know in this video a 2070 super was shown, but in my limited experience, if you're looking for a RTX 2060 Super, you should go for MSI Armor vs Gigabyte Windforce. The latter runs 10c hotter with whining fan noise. MSI's cooling system is way better.

I disagree with the "nosiest fans". My current build i ordered 1 intake fan from the front, 1 exhaust on the side, and 2 exaust on the top of the tower. Maybe i was unlucky? I don't know, all cooler master 120mm fans ordered from newegg, 3 of 4 fans were horribly noisy. I went the extra step and purchased some 3 and 1 oil designed specifically for these type of fans. Removed them, oiled the center piece, placed them back, nothing changed, all noisy as shit. How can cooler master fans who are so reputable, be this bad? They had a very good rating on newegg, it was the "4 pack", easily can be found, about 25 bucks for the 4.

Using percentage increases for temperature isn't correct if you use 0 Celsius as the baseline. With kelvin it would work.
