I use Samsung phones & Apple phones. Hands down the Note 10 + is killing my IPhone 11. The S20 Ultra will be the best phone this year. Apple Is so far behind. You can’t customize as many features as you can with Samsung phones. You can’t even multitask with the IPhones. Sorry Samsung is King....

Theres a reason samsung is on top in the smartphone game: choices.
They have phones in every damn price range for every person. Apple's dominance is literally only in the united states. Outside of the US, people would look down on you for using iphone, I'm speaking from experience (india, dubai, UK, germany, and china)

How is samsung lifting embargos earlier a bad thing? You can just.. keep watching the event and watch the videos after, or not watch them at all, or dont watch the event if you like watching a certain youtuber more, or watch the event later. More choices =/= bad. That's the summary of basically the entire apple v samsung bs

I was a iphone user from the 4s to the iphone x. Never thought I would switch, but I took the plunge and bought a s10. I switched back to my iPhone for 2 days and couldn't take it. iOS is much smoother but I couldn't go without the features of my s10. I hope apple starts innovating again soon.

@Jey Initial the thing I like the most is if I'm watching TVclip, or Netflix, or hulu, I can minimize the video to picture in picture and still watch the video while texting or browsing the web or apps. I can also do things like see a clip of my security cameras in my notification without opening the app. Theres just alot of little things like that and I wish they were standard on iphone. Not to mention my s10 is alot louder than my iphone was. I usually have my phone turned down half way where my iphone was always turned all the way up to hear video.

I think Rene needs to understand how costly Apple is for people outside the US. I can easily get the latest iPhone in the states, but people have to literally save for a year to afford an iPhone in other countries like India. If you can get a phone which kind of does the same stuff (except the camera) and does not break your back for it, why not buy it? That’s why Samsung, one plus and Google have such a huge market share in India, coz guess what, they did their market research for other countries as well and not just USA. Comparing the presentation skills of the Samsung CEO with Tim Cook kind of also had a racial undertone. Apple’s events are great coz they put so much into it, but under the hood as per the specs and for the price, Samsung wins all day.
P.S. I am an iPhone user.

This has got to be the most shallow video I have ever seen from René...
Jesus complaining that the design doesn't make sense to you... If you don't see why they are doing this design (horrible as it is, even in my opinion) then don't whine about it... Get a grip on reality outside of the Apple bubble...
Complaining that Dj Koh talks too much for your taste...
How about yo grab the courage by the balls and remove another port or break the sound barrier with the 1000$ phone cause it has iMessage.
Fine... You like Apple? Good job. So do many more do, you're not alone...
But over thinking every little thing Apple does as it's the forthcoming of fucking Jesus... Holy shit...
    Beyond shallow...
Note: A lot of people would love to stay in the Samsung ecosystem or just love their mobile OS. Shocking right? Not everyone of those people can afford to pay 700$+ for a phone. This is where these devices come in. Giving you the design and features from the 1000$ flagships for a more humble consumer or more cost oriented.
Get outside the fucking Apple bubble and smell some coffee... 🙄

Thank you for saying this. Many people literally worship companies, not just apple and samsung. He is one of those people unfortunately. And btw, it has gotten to the point where even samsung is more expensive than apple's most expensive phones. I have the s10+ performance edition in ceramic and it costs over 1700 bucks. Samsung just has way more devices for a larger audience, be it phones at $100 all the way to 3k.

    • Rene Ritchie
      Rene Ritchie  2 months ago

@Stefan Constantinescu mini/micro LED isn't the same as current LED. It gives most of the benefits of OLED without the problems of OLED. Probably still a couple years away though. (Samsung will be big in mini/micro LED as well.)

Eh. No one really cares about either of those things. It’s a 1%er feature. HDR is probably the closest thing to a consumer compelling feature. OLED is still problematic enough that mini/micro LED can’t get here fast enough.

    • Q Prince2020
      Q Prince2020 2 months ago

Paul Cervera That’s b/c Samsung is eventually going to take over the market and overshadow Apple! They already made Apple’s displays. Customers only buy Apple b/c of the value logo, camera, and software! But soon as Samsung has 5 yr updates, non-saturated pictures, and their own ecosystem. It’s a wrap for Apple 🍎!! Samsung and LG won’t really go out of business any time soon. They both got home appliances etc.

tbh samsung phones (software and hardware) are kinda ugly, theyre going for that extra. si-fi, boy-ish kind of aesthetic with hardware and very childish, bright, colorful in the software... i just prefer simplicity and as far as i know the samsung flagships dont even have a plain white color, it all has a blue hue shine to it or is a lil holo (reflecting rainbow w/ colors) , but thats my opinion.

Be happy that someone experiments and someone innovates so apple can later go and buy what was confirmed good, like wide cammera after 3years of competition - usb c, oled displays, and so on and so on and so on. So you can cry here apple sheeps how badly samsung aranges their releases and throw and scrap but your iphone is just the same foxcon shit made out of other innovations and experimenting :-) what did apple innovate actualy themselfs ? face id ? to have notch ? no thx, butterfly keyboard? no thx. The harder touch display thingy that they had to get rig of aswell? no thx :-) so thats about their ´innovations´ for past few years

CordoDaArtist choices in tech, software and hardware is not for the good in general. One single purely functional framework that does less magic but focus on high performance and quality makes a software team better in providing new products with the same foundation. Similarly, One single chip of A13 Bionic avoid the chance of buggy driver loading in memory intense softwares. Coz you have only one option. And so is display tech, streaming techs and just about everything. Throwing a shit on the wall to later rub off clearly affects the wall and the wall is our market. The smell stays there even after you rub it off repeatedly.

I agree, it's getting silly at this point. There's the A10, the S10e, the S10, the S10 Plus, the Note 10, the note 10 Plus, the S10 Lite, and the Note 10 Lite, plus others I'm probably forgetting. Streamlining the branding this year (removing the R and making the base 11 the "Budget" model) was a great move for Apple and avoids confusion. I'm guessing next year will be similar, except with an iPhone SE2 coming as a super budget model and potential replacement for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

I hope they call the Phone Samsung Galaxy 11 not S20 for less product confusion.

The sole reason I switched from The iPhone Xs max to the galaxy Note 9 was the poor reception I received on my iPhone. My wife still has an iPhone and we constantly compare reception on our phones. Needless to say the reception on my Note 9 and now Note 10 plus is better than her Xs. Some areas she has no bars and I have 2 bars. I live in the mountains of western North Carolina and reception is not always the best. I was disappointed with the cost of the iPhone and the lack of cell signal reception. It might seem strange but I need a phone that actually receives calls without having to rely on wifi. I would like to see comparisons done between cell reception on various iPhones vs android devices in areas which have little to no reception. It doesn't make sense to purchase a phone for $1,000 plus and not be able to make or receive calls most of the time.

Robert Jernigan I live in a big city, and my s8 has the best reception. All my friends have an iPhone. Ranging from iPhone 11 Pro Max, to the iPhone XS Max. I remember this one time when I went to the mountains with four of my friends, and they all had no reception lol. The funny thing is, they wanted to snapchat, and Instagram everything! So, I used my hotspot and I used the 5ghz range (Samsung phones let’s you switch between 2.4 to 5ghz range, and you also get to change the radio reception for it), they were all praising me (I’m not kidding. I wish I was though). They were able to use their social media apps lol.

@Korey Deese since leaving iOS I have owned Galaxy Note 9, pixel 3xl, Galaxy Note 10plus. I have not experienced reception issues with any of those. Other issue that I had with iPhone was leaving wifi and entering cell service, I would have go into airplane mode and then out to be able to get cell reception. Even though my phone said I had 4 bars. To bad there is not somewhere that ranks devices based on reception. If I lived in a big city I might have had better luck with the iPhone.

    • Korey Deese
      Korey Deese 2 months ago

Robert Jernigan what’s odd is I bought a Note 10+ thinking it would have much better reception that the Xr I had. I needed to make a call and had even worse reception on the Note since everybody trashes Intel and so highly of Qualcomm. I ended up returning the Note the next day. Maybe I got a dud, but I had issues with both data and calling signal being worse when I absolutely needed to make a call. Now have the 11 Pro Max. In retrospect all I probably really need is a Pixel 3A.
Edit: Also funny. I live in the middle of NC.

This approach is why I went to Apple. Or one of the reasons. I got tired of buying a phone for features that got almost no support after launch certain not third party. Then have Samsung scrap the whole thing. For example they had Memo and SNote. Then mad Samsung notes. Which you would think was related to snote and it looked similar but different feature sets and they don’t sync to each other. I have entire notes I wrote on Memo that I couldn’t access later once I upgraded. Just ridiculous. Samsung phones have some of the best internal hardware and often best designs period. Their software imo is much better than stock android. And yet, their phones lack the cohesion of iPhones. It’s like having all the best players on the team trying to get the ball vs on Apple you have a few of the best players ever but they have a great team that works with them and they are all synchronized. That’s true of their MacBooks too.

Due to the timing of the note devices compared to when the latest versions of android are released, notes really only ever get one full android update and then they get dropped. Whereas iPhones can get 5 iOS version updates. I own a note 9 which only came out a little over a year ago but will only get one further android version update which will occur in a few months. Then apart from 1 year of security updates, that will be the end of software updates. Although the note 9 shipped with android 8, it was quickly switched to android 9 which was already in beta when the note 9 was released. So the note 9 will only get one Android update which is android 10. At least that is how I understand it. This policy seems to apply to most of their phones no matter what the price was. That is my biggest gripe with android and ss. It is also not good for the environment for these devices to such short lives

    • HomeSpace
      HomeSpace 2 months ago

@FriedEgg I have flipped between the two too. The new iPhones don't seem to slow down as much as that used to and I still use an iPhone se on ios13 and it is still very fast and snappy.

    • FriedEgg
      FriedEgg 2 months ago +1

I abandoned Nokia for the iPhone 3G then iPhone 4S. Then I abandoned Apple for the Galaxy Note 4, which I had for 6 years. The iPhones slowed down as successive iOS versions were installed, whereas the Note 4 stayed snappy on Android 6.0.1. I now have Android 10 on the Note 10+ and the difference feels incremental; nice but not exactly revolutionary. The biggest differences are with hardware (screen and camera). My Note 4 still works, still feels snappy, and still does 80% of the things my Note 10+ does.

@VIKINGNORM my only issue with iPhones is the battery life in terms of them sealing a consumable into the phone, that needs replacing usually after a few years. This has to be done by apple and means being without the phone for a week in my country and it isn't cheap. We don't have apple stores in New Zealand.

      VIKINGNORM 2 months ago

HomeSpace I’ll probably never own another Android, Apple catches flak over price & “not innovating “ but I love mine & they last forever on new iOS versions

    • Digitalguy
      Digitalguy 2 months ago

HomeSpace sure, but my experience with android is that most apps still support even android 4.4. So unless you need some specif app that doesn’t you are fine. As for updating, I said it, IOS is better, no doubt, but again you can easily keep an android phone for 5 years with almost no issues. An SE with 16GB will last less than an S7 with 32GB and expansion. Problem is apple was selling 16GB phones and people were buying them, while Samsung had already moved to 32 (still low). Nowadays we have a similar story with 64 vs 128 + expansion...So things are more complex that just having more updates.

@Doctor Brain btw, iPhone 11's camera design looks nothing like it "shamelessly copied" Huawei's camera design. There square design is a bit different around the corners but I ll give you that it's still a square. However, their lenses are aligned differently in a triangle form, lense size shape is also different and the colour inside of the square is more or less the colour like that of the actual phone not black. Put them side by side and the iPhone Pro's camera looks NOTHING like they tried to shamelessly copy the Mate 30 Pro's look. How about this prior to the iPhone X's vertical camera design all phones dual camera designs were horizontal on the back left corner with the exception of Samsung's in the middle closer to the top. Every phone after the X debute went with a vertical camera design Huawei included. Heck even Samsung followed suit on their 2019 Note model, Fold and mid tier models. They had a nice signature look that was different from the rest but instead decided to follow and be like every other phone. Even their new models are now adding that black square /rectangular design like the Pixel 4's.
At least the iPhone 11 Pro's camera design stands out because it's different from all the others with the vertical camera and now square /rectangular camera trend design.

@nuyou21 okay 🤣🤣🤣🤣 no where in the article which u sent was mentioned samsung admitted that they are apples fan and about the head phones and watch I never claimed that samsung were first I said they were before apple . To me ur just but hurt like others Dude Tailosive tech is a guy whom I can easily counter man with the knowledge about inner workings of both Android and iOS which I have a (partial knowledge about inner workings ) not ur average Joe who tells only about UI and shit like noobs u see Tailosive tech is noob who doesn't know shit he ain't Linus buddy and that's y he can be countered and for ur kind info if I were to be an samsung sheep or fandroid i would have never subscribed to this channel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 this proves ur so much butt hurt bro please change ur perception the way u view tech product bcs if I were to counter in live I am sure I would have challenged u fearcely bro please think and comment and ur getting the past Samsung.
Even an apple sheep like Rennie has acknowledged samsung about their own identity 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 .
Ur just getting the 2012 law suit which I clearly acknowledged and stated they are not the same as they were.
U call copying the machine learning algorithm is innovative from apples part. Lol that's one of the biggest thing apple has copied from Google literally taken a page form Google I repeat literally ripped google in the recent 5 yearsof history and also the iOS 9 again iOS clone of lollipop 🤣🤣 🤣🤣
🤣🤣 🤣 I can list more way more but lazy to type the features and explain it to u again research on the inner workings of Android and iOS bro and then reply back or else I will be forced to consider u as just another random dude who doesn't know shit about the working of these operating system .
Oh my God the wide angle they took so much time to get only to get the colour balance on par with the main lens lol.
And not improving the main cons of a wide angle i.e low light where it still sucks.
As rennie said Samsung just hurries stuffs i.e experimemt ,scrape and repeat which is good and bad depends on how u see it.
Again the fact that u replied me back with same bullshit which u commented before is a testimony of ur deniel and being butt hurt🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and thanks for proving me and if u bring same bullshit article again or even a similar article there won't be any reply from be bye 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

@Fala Ai oh I din't know that but thanks for educating me about that .
      And ur probability right.
But I couldn't find anywhere that apple is the company which spends highest in r&d . I am not just referring this perticular article but I am saying in general I have seen multiple sources and I couldn't find a single article stating apple spends more then samsung.
But as I mentioned in my previous comments I don't see more innovation from apple all they do is rennovate.
Which is not wrong but they are not the front runner.
Also I am highly optimistic about the Galaxy fold being a success.
See what u can't deny is that samsung makes the best the industry they are second to none .
Infact it's since 2016 I haven't seen a single iPhone which has out innovated samsung and objectively Galaxy phones were better then their iPhone counterpart in most of the cases.
Till the iPhone 11 series Samsung was ahed of apple as an overall package .
But with the iPhone 11it changed a bit.

    • Fala Ai
      Fala Ai 2 months ago

@Debojit Mandal ----- Please. Who is going to have a more accurate idea of the R&D spend for Apple? Apple or Thompson Reuters? I referred you to the source data, I realize you're not responsible for Thompson Reuters screwing up by 3 billion dollars but it is a half-assed glaring error.
Actually what Thomson Reuters is reporting is Apple's number from 2017, in spite of showing it in the column marked 2018 on their wacky little report.

    • Debojit Mandal
      Debojit Mandal 2 months ago

      @Fala Ai
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Even in 2018 Samsung had higher r&d budget then apple.
Correct me if I am wrong in 2018 I think apples was around 11-12 and not 14 as u claimed bcs I got this report from multiple sources.
This article shows first half of 2019.
And in 2014 they were the highest.
And no where I found apple spends the highest in r&d .
That's y u see crazy (even tough technically flop) innovations from samsung.
U see even Rennie said that samsung is known for releasing , scrapping and testing.
The only literally definition of r&d is
Research and development (R&D) refers to the activities companies undertake to innovate and introduce new products and services. Definition by google there nothing called different philosophy 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Both develop products but samsung spends more.

    • Fala Ai
      Fala Ai 2 months ago

@Debojit Mandal ---- In looking at the Apple annual report for 2019 their expenditure in R&D was 16.2 billion and in 2018 it was 14.2 billion. You can find these reports at page 21 of the 2019 report. Looking at the graph of R&D over time I'm estimating Apple will spend around 18 billion in 2020. Apple usually converts R&D in 24 months times by a factor of 4. That means their profits in 2022 will be in the order of 72 billion dollars. This affords them the ability to easily afford increasing their R&D spend.
It's tricky to compare Apple and Samsung even though we have a good idea of the total amount being spent, as the two companies have a very different emphasis. Seventy five percent of Samsung's revenues traditionally come from sales to other companies in terms of the components. Apple is not in that business, 100% of their R&D is spent on developing consumer products. It's also tough to compare the 2 companies as they employ different definitions of what is considered R&D.

    • Kwarkool
      Kwarkool 2 months ago

Debojit Mandal where are you getting your data from? Samsung is a very broad technology company. It does spends about 15.3 billion on R&D across all its divisions whereas apple’s is 11.6 billion on a much more focused sectors.

@Miguel Diaz I have and like I said it's fine for what it is, it does a few things and it does them well. You're not paying for "the best", your paying for the best your particular phone is capable of doing. If you went to "The best Fry restaurant", I expect for them to have the best damned 🍟, and if they do 4 other things I expect them to do those well as well. But if I go somewhere and they're trying new unique things and have a wide variety of items then that restaurant is objectively better because there's more to choose from and I don't expect EVERY thing they make to be perfect, but I do expect most of it to be awesome and that's Samsung. You had a buggy phone if you had weird yellow tinting, that's not a thing, it's not a thing I've witnessed, it's not a thing in reviews. iphones seem faster because again, they do less. My Xbox and PS1started faster then my Xbox one and PS4, they start faster and the games run faster alot of the time, they also did less then my xbox1 and PS4, the games aren't as detailed and the features aren't as rich. if you do less then you can be faster. Even Apple has said they done do multitasking because they can't make doing it fast. You talk as if iphones are 100% bug free, thats not remotely true, they have less bugs because :say it with me now. They. Do. Less.

@The Legendary I just don't under stand why people like android it's so buggy and I noticed every android camera has this weird yellow tint to it except for the pixel I would actually use that phone but like iPhones are much faster than android's and the apps are more optimized so I'm paying for the best experience in a cell phone not a buggy phone that has the dual screen feature or what any other features I personally have the iphone xs just a question have you ever used a iphone ?
