    Year of the Rat
"The Rat is the first of all zodiac animals. According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. The Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride. Then, just as they arrived at the finish line, Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox, becoming first."

Hi Craig, I am a Chinese American married to a Brit, so I quite understand how you feel. Both China and the UK have had a long history of triumph and failures. Eventually they always correct their own mistakes and move forward. I sincerely hope that the UK can find its path to prosperity and remain a strong united country.
All the best from Washington DC.

Happy New Year to those in China!
    Beautiful lanterns.
    However.. 🤔
Can I send our electric bill to China ?
    It's *far* too costly. 🤑
My husband and I used zero electricity for our light up Christmas boat tire wreath last month.
It was 100% AA battery powered.
    Truth! 🧐
    Oh well. 😪

700 hundred cases, 40 people killed. Think about it, each one of those 700 hundred people will come in contact with a few dozen people. So by tommorow we could have 8000 cases, and the next 100,000 and so on.
Hundreds of millions of people will be traveling this lunar new year, this pandemic is not preventable unless they find a treatment. The virus originated from bats, birds can catch it then migrate....cover your mouths and avoid dense populated areas.

The irony that on the Year Of The Rat there's a virus outbreak in China and we all know how rats have been associated with diseases throughout history.

    • Ausome Aspie
      Ausome Aspie 2 months ago

@Inspirado Rupees No it didn't! How did the coronavirus start? The virus appears to have originated from a Wuhan seafood market where wild animals, including marmots, birds, rabbits, bats and snakes, are traded illegally.3 nothing to do with fishermen or mutated rats!

    • Inspirado Rupees
      Inspirado Rupees 2 months ago

Corona virus was caused by a mutated rat that bit a fisherman in the neck

    • Ausome Aspie

The coronavirus has nothing to do with Rats, besides the plague was caused by the fleas on the rats, not the rats themselves.

Unless you're Chinese or know about Chinese new year these celebrations go unnoticed by westerners. It's also not a big event outside of asia, it won't generate clicks if western news organisations report on it.
