    Tachin is literally my favorite persian rice dish and I’m a suuper picky eater. Anyone who hasn’t try it, try it at least once in your life you probably won’t regret it.

    To anyone who doesn’t know how to prep barberies, be sure to soak in water for up to an hour beforehand. Often times barberries are not washed and have small rocks or pieces of dirt which can cause a very unsubtle crunch if you eat them when they’re not washed

    Everyone is saying how Andy used a ton of saffron. A teaspoon of saffron isn’t that expensive! Sure saffron in itself is as expensive as gold, but you can get a gram (~1 tsp) of good quality stuff for $7. It can be even cheaper in Iran. This dish isn’t supposed to be an everyday kind of dish and a little bit of saffron goes a long way.

    I doubt this guy ever used saffron in his life. Coz just a pinch of saffron and it's v. Flavourful. Saffron should be treated with much respect as it's v. Rare and the whole process is v. Extreme to get smallest box. It's very aromatic and one pinch can go miles so yeah you fail in this recipe. 😊

    Please just say the name of persian dishes as they are and don't try to come up with an english name for them. Treat them as u would a french dish. The name of your video should have been Tahchin not saffron rice cake.

    I would not make this dish with out rosewater!! Also I put little bit of sugar in the fruit mixture bcus the barbecues are little sour but I guess bcus he put golden raisins, he didn’t use sugar. Many people put cooked chicken in the fruit mixture. Andy ur dish looks incredibly yummy!!!!!!!!

    The crust from this was probably one of the worst things I've eaten. Everything about it sounded like something I would love. The middle was really good, but damn that crust was unholy. I think I'll try this recipe without baking it, and with less oil.
