BEST Street Food in China - Chinese Street Food - China Street Food. You’ll be mesmerized watching these delicious Street Food baozi being scraped out of the DEEP tandoori oven in Turpan, China. We arrived specifically to try the best street food in China, on our great Silk Road journey to the deep west of China. There is a whole new cuisine and street food selection available here, and you can travel here and enjoy it all! Immediately after you arrive, Xinjiang really makes you feel like you’ve entered a whole new street food world, a new street food universe! Eating the street food here is definitely one of the best Chinese food experiences you can have, and is 100% some of the best street food around the world!
We traveled on the long distance train all the way from Chengdu, in Sichuan province, to Xining, and then onwards to Turpan, and as soon as we arrived in Turpan, we dove deep into the street food scene and tried our hardest to eat all of the western china street food dishes. A lot of the dishes we tried really reminded me of central asian street food. The insanely delicious hand made roast baozi in this street food video was definitely of the best street foods that I’ve tried in China! So far, I’ve tried and sampled street food in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Chengdu (in Sichuan province), and all around china, but after coming here to Turpan in Xinjiang in deep western China, I was blown away at how delicious it was and can say that this is definitely one of the best street foods around the world!
Everything we tried, and in particular these roast baozi, made by baking them deep in a tandoori oven, was really cheap. The local language is Uighur, but I got by with Mandarin Chinese, although it would have been a little better if I studied a little Uighur language to have some better interaction with the locals. Overall, our experience in Turpan eating delicious street food was amazing! It is definitely one of the best street food cities we've been to in 2017!
Here are the locations in this street food video:
    1) Kao baozi AKA Samsa AKA roast beef buns (INSANELY DELICIOUS baozi baking) -
    2) Meat feast and Uighur specialties dinner - featuring hand pulled noodles and hand grasped mutton as well as Polo, central asian Pilaf! -

My name is Trevor James and I'm a hungry traveler and Mandarin learner that's currently living in Chengdu, Szechuan, China, eating up as much delicious .
I enjoy tasting and documenting as many dishes as I can and I'm going to make videos for YOU along the way! Over the next few years, I'm going to travel around the world and document as much food as I can for you! I love delicious food! This channel will show you real Chinese food and real local food, not that stuff they serve in the Buzzfeed challenge.
Thanks for watching, and please feel free to leave a comment, suggestion, or critique in the comments below!
Please make sure to subscribe, it's the best way to keep my videos in your feed, and give me a thumbs up too if you liked this food video, thanks, I appreciate it! You could also share the video too if you liked it, that would be awesome.

hello my friend, my name is Adrian Arreola, I live in Mexico
I am a follower of all your videos, they fascinate me
      but I have a question
I was watching one of your programs, where "samsa kao baozi" is prepared

Do you know how the recipe is made and the process to make it :)?
I am currently unemployed, I have a son I need money, it would be a great adventure to start a business of "samsa kao baozi", but I have no idea how to elaborate something like that, the process is handcrafted and with technique but I have no idea how to take it to cape
I would feel very happy if you could help me friend, thank you very much

Do they still sell this when it rains? Just curious cause when it's open its exposed to the air.
Also how does it stay stuck to the sides without falling into the pit?

I was put off by the fattiness and amount of liquid in the meat. I'm sure that's what gives the bao it's flavour but I would like to try one with leaner meat.

Trevor, Anthony Bourdain has nothing on you! This is absolutely amazing! The gateway into a culture and the "real people" is their food, and what I find amazing about your videos is the places you've gone and seen that we would never see in conventional television. Kudos, if there was any way any of us in the west are to understand China and Asia, your videos should be mandatory watching. Thanks so much!

Mr Cabot, you are such an il-informed nasty person. Those Uyghur people do NOT eat things like that. Lamb is the most favourite meat of Uyghur people. They are very strict in their eating. They would rather die than eating cats, dogs, pigs, mice...
