for me , GE engines seem to rule the skies on commercial airplanes.
what I would really like to see it s a second Concorde , powered by some J58 type engines... Like... let s get closer to star trek... at least let s start up the era ...

Two engine planes (despite being most of them) always make me a bit uneasy. While I *know* they can emergency land safely on one, if one were to fail, I always feel safer on a 747, A380, or A340.

One of my favorite things to do is put this on my phone in my car / blue tooth paired to the car stereo which is a Boise sound system. And listen to it while driving down the highway. Talk about a pretty cool experience.

*Q for pilots . . . in the departure/liftoff - is that "100%" (i.e. full to the max, 'pedal to the floor') power being used?* (timepoint 4:00 - 5:10 or so)

    • Sam Wilkinson
      Sam Wilkinson 2 months ago

Nope, it's a calculated % of the total thrust which saves on fuel and engine wear.

why is the engine fan not running on landing? did it have a problem?

    • TheWeird One
      TheWeird One 2 months ago

Actually a lot of airlines turn off 1 of their engines while taxiing so they can reduce the noise polution and save fuel.

Nice video. Just curious. How were you listing to live ATC while in the plane?

    • Jim Romada
      Jim Romada 2 months ago

Nice. I have a really nice scanner, but they would not allow me to listen to it in the US planes. I used to use LIVE ATC app on my phone and listen to them talk but now as soon as i get into the airplane, i loose live atc. I have perfect cell phone service and can do anything else my phone can do except listen to live atc. As of a year ago somehow they are able to block that site from people being able to use it while in the planes and i don't know why or how they block it.

What there saying about Boeing jets now I am not happy to fly them.. Even parts that should not be used on a plane.. The planes are rushed out and not finished.

Great video.☺️ I love this KLM Boeing 777-200ER.☺️ The Boeing 777-200ER with a set of two GE90-94B Jet Engines are my most favourite aircraft ever built especially the ones in the British Airways Livery.☺️
Edit, I just subscribed to ur channel.☺️

The reason the fans buzz on modern turbofan engines is that, at max power, the tips of the fan blades exceed the speed of sound. The reason clouds form at the fan inlet is that, again at max power, when the surrounding air is stationary, they create a void region of low pressure, causing rapid condensation of water vapor, as they suck more air per second than is in a typical 4-room house. 👍

3:50 Wow, look at the vacuum formed at the intake when it spools up, causing the moisture in the air to condense into a dense cloud!

  • ricardo jimenez

noob question, does it produce engine mist all the time when taking off?

    • Criticalz
      Criticalz 2 months ago

I now know what you mean. No, it doesn't produce that mist all of the time. I'm not sure why it occurs though, probably when there's moisture in the engine itself or if there's rain going directly into the engine. As I said, not too sure, so don't take my word that seriously.

F'ing magnificent! The Triple 7 is an amazing Aircraft! The sound of those engines is overwhelming. They're so strong, so imposing and yet very reassuring to me. I've always felt safe on a Triple 7. Business and first classes are superb. Especially on British Airways and American.
