I watched the first season of "The Good Place" I liked all of the cast. My favorite character was the husband who faked like he didn't speak(being a monk in silence). Then he had a secret room full of games and junk food. LOL 😂 I won't be watching anymore seasons anytime soon. I need to focus on my life goals so all distractions are going away including TVclip 😢

Ted Danson is forking perfect in "The Good Place". Some of my favorite moments are all his observations on how weird and contradictory humans are, because he's usually right. "Kissing is gross. You just... mash your food-holes together. It's not FOR that." xD

I have't seen it in the comments so I feel obligated to mention Creepshow. Mr. Danson plays in one of the stories... opposite (a serious) Leslie Nielson. Written by Stephen King and directed by George Romero. If that pedigree doesn't grab you, then we have different tastes in entertainment, which is fine.

I've never really understood Emmys and Oscars in terms of competition and feeling good or bad about it. In the real world of competition, the playing field is level, so to speak and performance is easily measured with an obvious winner. With these awards in the Arts, you can be the world's greatest actor but never even get nominated. And don't even get me started on Olympic Ice Skating. lol

It's definitely the best adaptation of that novel I've ever seen by far. As as kid, I never knew there was more than the Lilliput part. I seem to remember it actually being kind of a big deal when it first aired. I guess miniseries were considered to be kind of passe the time, but Gulliver's Travels was successful enough that for a few years afterward, we had a number of fantasy-themed miniseries being produced on a fairly regular basis.

    • Joe McKim
      Joe McKim 29 days ago

+Forever Conflicted BBT is a show that you either love or hate, not much in-between ground. I think that it's great and is constantly entertaining. But I'm not watching expecting to see a high brow experience.

    • Forever Conflicted
      Forever Conflicted 29 days ago

I can see why someone would say something like that. BBT is something that certain people like and everyone else seems to hate, but I don't think it really declined. It obviously has as every show seems to over time (except Cheers, Frasier, Brooklyn 99, and Seinfeld, which I thought got better). I think a more obvious decline is through ABC shows like Modern Family, The Goldburgs, Blackish, et cetra. Those shows are the same joke over and over again and in the case of all of them they became desperate. Blackish did this aweful pseudo-realistic thing where a comidic show became serious. The Goldburgs just became more stupid and repetitious. Modern Family just used the same jokes over and over (not like the Goldburgs, you'd have to watch it to understand). So while the BBT isn't great, I still think those shows are worse than it simply because they did stupid crap to catch attention. But that's just my simple opinion. Either way go Ted Danson you rock!
