    Just now saw your channel, and wanted to give you a new challenge on this type cake.
    Can you make a three-layer cake, Ketchup. Mustard and Mayo, and serve it with Pickle Relish Ice Cream? There is such an ice cream. We used to buy it at an ice cream parlor near Rockville, Indiana, where they made a variety of in-house flavors. And use whatever icing you think works, but not from a can. I'd suggest a whipped yogurt icing.
    On the same subject, how about a triple layer Pumpkin, Zuchinni, and Carrot Cake, served with Ube or Yam ice cream for Thanksgiving? That one should get cream cheese icing.

    This cake makes me why they even bothered with the mustard...I mean it has raisins, carrots & brown sugar in it, that would, I think, kill the tartness of the mustard? Interesting, to say the least. This is more like a carrot cake, I'll bet, with some added tartness? It's sorta like when you add pepper to ginger bread, it intensifies the ginger bread & makes it taste sooo good. I'll have to try this recipe now too!! Thanks Emmy!

    I work with newborn puppies. I can't eat whole grain mustard. If you have ever dealt with newborn puppies, especially if you have to 'stimulate' them because the mother isn't, you know what I mean.

    Because I'm pedantic and French, redundant I know ;), Maille is pronounce like the Japanese name Mai or Mah-ee. That's because the "e" at the end does NOT have an accent, you need an accent, "é" or "è", to give you that "ay"-like sound. Ok nitpicking done, this was super interesting. I have used mayo in cakes but would never have thought of trying mustard in a carrot cake.

    There's definitely a big party of ingredients happening in this beautiful cake. I'm wondering if the omission of two spoonfuls of mustard would make a huge difference to the overall yum factor of this cake.😄

    I don't like ketchup, but I'd be willing to try the ketchup cake. I love mustard, so I'd be willing to try this one as well, but I can imagine how sweet mustard would work.

    I don't know if someone commented on this yet, but the correct way to say "Maille" isn't "Maayay". It's closer to "My" with a bit more "a" (as in "father"). At the end of a word, the [e] is mute unless it has an accent [é, è, ê]. (Sorry, French teacher here! :) )

    Turmeric is what gives American mustard that insanely yellow colour. Mustard seeds pulverized just look like dijon mustard.

    I love cream cheese frosting but I never add as much powdered sugar recipes call for because I can’t stand when it’s too sweet! I’d rather taste some of that cream cheese flavor instead of just sugar. 3;:

    Man it isn't the mustard that throws me off, it's the fifty billion carrots in it. Uck.
