  • Givenchy recently came out with makeup for ALL GENDERS… yes people, unisex makeup apparently is a thing. In my opinion a thing nobody asked for because makeup already is for EVERYBODY! Makeup doesn’t need labels! But how do these products apply? Are they any good? Let’s find out!

NikkieTutorials my range rover was kiakora stone (in the background of my pic).
The paint got a tiny chip right before I sold it, and I genuinely used makeup to hide the chip!
Makeup is for every gender! Even cars! 😂

Well men don’t have the same skin because the body is not exactly for men and women, as that, fondation can be adapted for men so they can find products that fits. For me, it’s pretty much like mate skin or oily skin.. I am not so hungry about it❤️ still love you so much Nikkie

Well men have drastically different skin from women and there should be makeup for just men and there should be women only makeup and there should be makeup for everybody yes but sometimes that's not allways possible saddly

My partner will ask me to put some concealer on him if he has any skin issues, or even to fill his brows in - no problem. However, he'd never buy it for himself, or put it on himself, it's as if me doing it makes it ok and means he''s not really wearing makeup. To be honest, I don't think that the name would change that. He's not one of those people who is obsessed with being macho or something, he honestly doesn't care and knows I don't care about that stuff either, he's just one of those many guys who is of the mindset that makeup is not meant or made FOR him. I'm all for the more "unisex" packaging, and for brands marketing to everyone, but I think this collection seems to have been handled a bit badly.

It's sad that society has made it feel like men should be ashamed to wear makeup unless you rename to be more masculine.

I too think it’s really about marketing, as said by you nikkitutorials and others makeup is already unisex whether it’s females wearing it or males no matter whether or not they are straight or gay, make up is for both genders and and shouldn’t be gender based

I think they made makeup for men but called it unisex so the men wouldn’t get offended lol

I would like to think that unisex makeup would be a little bit more coverage than regular makeup as in because male skin has a different texture than a woman's skin. I don't know, just a thought I guess. The coverage doesn't seem to be there. Thank you for what you do. I appreciate you. Have a blessed day.

Once I was in a Sephora and some guy’s girlfriend was explaining to the salesperson that her boyfriend was looking for a men’s moisturizer and he wasn’t going to buy a moisturizer unless it was meant for men. They walked out of the store empty-handed.

    Can I just say this
Yes ofc it says unisex but some men are embarrassed about going into the makeup section to get maybe some concealer for a pimple. I think these products are more male oriented so some men dont feel any less "manly" for buying because some men are like that and u cant change it. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

I wanna see this on a man who usually doesnt wear makeup and see what they think

  • Nao
    Nao Month ago

I think they just wanna sell products to men who don’t use eyeshadow or stuffs like this, they just wanna hide skin problem without showing that they are wearing any makeup (that not excuse the packaging). But that excuse that they wanna have the same make up that other men use so they adapted the packaging for men who don’t wear makeup..

I honestly am not happy at the fact that someone is saying they are a unisex beauty brand when in reality all makeup is made for everyone. It doesn’t matter if your a 40 year old guy or a 17 year old girl or a drag queen. Makeup is for everyone and I’ve started to see more and more brands have campaigns that are inclusive in the past 2-3 years

This is insulting. Makeup has always been "unisex." It's the one thing in this world that didn't need a label and a brand found a way to give it that anyway. SMH!!!
And if this line is so-called "unisex," why is everything in this line starting with, "mister". What a mess.....

probably just doing this to make men feel better about trying makeup but i do also believe that makeup doesn't have a label for woman

  • Sasha Colley
    Sasha Colley 2 months ago

    My opinion:
There should be a "makeup for men" thing but not exclusive to men, for example a 5'clock shadow product and things that biological men need. Obviously lots of women could use it but its for men who want to express themself through makeup. Makeup is unisex BUT its a feminine thing. Feminine doesnt always mean Women it just women implied. a man can dress feminine doesnt mean hes a woman. There should be a brand of makeup made by men for men type thing it would be great.

It's definitely a marketing strategy. They used masculine packaging, called each product Mr., and changed the name to more simple things so that the people starting with those wouldn't understand the words of other products, e.g. concealer, and have to stay with that company.
I also think they called it unisex because of the backlash saying makeup for men, or that would only be seen as for feminine guys, or in this toxic masculinity system the man could buy it and not feel judged as it's unisex so they could be buying it for their gf or mum
I was surprised that there didn't seem to be any instructions, or if there was Nikki didn't look at them. Also I was expecting a beard filler too as that would actually be useful as a unisex product, beard/brow filler, something like that
If you want to review a true unisex company then you should try fluide

I’m a male and to me it doesn’t matter whether it says unisex or not. it still feels kind of weird when going to the shop and buying things in pink packaging with all the “female slogans” on it. Also many guys fear of being judged for that but in the end i’d prefer to get a good quality product instead of a crappy “unisex” one,

If a guy is interested in getting into makeup, there’s millions of products he already has to choose from. I think it’s nice that this line appeals to a different democratic. The makeup industry is massive and can be challenging to dive into. Makeup is already unisex I agree, but plenty of guys still have an internal judgement towards using it. It could have been done better but I think the idea could expand the demographic of makeup even more than it had already reached.

  • Rachel Warner

Theyre not supposed to be full coverage/full glam. Im sure theyre supposed to be unrecognizable. The glow gel im sure would look great if you took a decent amount and spread it around like a moisturizer. the concealer isnt supposed to completely conceal your skin, it will just give a little coverage where you need it. I think that making it for men is just a better way to make a line of natural looking makeup products..
