i've dowloaded this movie and was ready to be scared after watching it.. i was disappointed; wasn't even scared afterwards. but i do remember being horrified from it when it was originally released, back in the late 90's.

got violently ill after literally 1 minute of watching that movie, but couldn't leave my girlfriend there, so I waited in the hallway and listened to this movie. DUMBEST MOVIE IN HISTORY.

While some are saying it changed a genre, I say it was the greatest scam in movie history. It made a lot of people think it was creative, interesting and changed the genre, and all it REALLY was, was a bad script, bad cinematography, bad everything, wrapped into great marketing.

They walked 15 hours? In that forest near Burkittsville Maryland? Has anyone looked at that on google maps? The woods there grow on the stretched hills/mountains and are about 500 Meters wide. If you go down the hill 250 meters you get out of them easily and would probably stand on some farmers field then...So i guess there must have been some strange magic involved, preventing them from doing so...or they are the greatest Idiots imaginable.

a girl in my class was so convinced that this movie was both real and "terrifying" that she didn't believe what anyone said whilst they pointed out how the actors were in films after this premiered that she started writing what she called a "article" about how it was real and needs to be more looked into and how it isn't a bunch of sloppy camera shots, off camera implication and over acting with weird face angles mashed into a vhs tape you'd find at the discount section at blockbusters (which she did) "Well it shows them finding stuff that had been there a while and said that they found the camera under the floorboards and made the footage into a movie. the witch didn't kill the other people because she wanted her story out or something and you cant change my mind about it being a true story cus no way that was acting she was legit crying and that cabin had been untouched" ok sis.
