Today, Alex and Matt are detailing shoes! Our friends at Asics hooked us up with some amazing-looking and super-comfortable Onitsuka Tigers. Detailing is a physical activity, so it's important to wear comfortable and grippy shoes. The guys always work around water, dirt, and detailing chemicals whenever working on cars, so the time to protect the shoes against these contaminants is when they're fresh out of the box.
Shield fabric shoes against stains, spots, and water with Chemical Guys Fabric Guard. Simply mist a coat of Fabric Guard over natural and synthetic cloth, and let dry. Mist 2 - 3 coats to create a durable waterproof shield that helps repel dirt and stains before they can set in.

And if your shoes are well-loved and not 100% perfect, clean them up with some Chemical Guys Nonsense All Purpose Cleaner before sealing them up with Fabric Guard. For tough set-in stains, try Lightning Fast Stain Extractor!

Chemical Guys detailing products are not just for the car; you can use them all over the home and office too! Whether you choose the clean your TV with a streak-free glass cleaner, wipe fingerprints off appliances with quick detail spray, or wax your glass shower door to prevent water spots, there's a Chemical Guys product for just about every job outside of the car.

Hi David, thanks for watching. The car you see behind you is a Mazda Miata from the early nineties, it was customized to be a street race car like the ones you see in the Fast and Furious movies. Stay tuned David, we've got more great videos on the way.

Does it leave any kind of residue on white shoes? That's a typical complaint about NeverWet and other water repellents - a haze or discoloration on certain materials. Asking specifically for white, leather sneakers.

Interested to know if the Fabric is still breathable?

    • David Roddick
David Roddick 3 years ago +1

+lhodge101 That's the problem with doing this. Properly coated the shoes will not breath or wick which is important when you feet are hot. Most of the time, you want tennis or athletic shoes to breath. It may not totally coat the show where it won't breath or wick, but it will definitely reduced both.

The repellent effects of Fabric Guard don't allow the water to sit very long on the shoe as well. It repels water and falls right off. I personally did it to a pair of Nike Free Run's and when I visited NYC I got stuck in a downpour of rain, I was soaked but my feet and shoes were completely dry! It was awesome! hahaha
