Thanks for this one. I recall having at least on two hikes a backpack of 35 kg, about 70 pounds. usually it has been 25 kg but nowadays I try to go with 12 -15 kg due to my back problems. I usually hike 7 - 9 days in the wilderness in a very rough country. You go very light.

You two are awesome! Coffee...hmmmm...have been enjoying it for over 40 years. IMO, coffee was meant to drink hot. I'm on Susan's side of the fence on this one. Enjoying a CUP of hot coffee is what its all about! However, cold "brew" has it's place the iced coffee side of things. I do enjoy a cold brew from Dunkin every so often...maybe with my BEEFARINO...but nothing replaces the cup of HOT BREW in the am and after dinner!! :)

Great one guys. Coffee very warm but not to burn my lips. Boiling reduces the coffee flavour IMHO. Aka Coffeehound!

Boiling drinks slowly kill taste buds.

    • Ryan Hill
      Ryan Hill 9 months ago

The hot water is necessary to draw the flavor and oils out of the grounds but you don't/shouldn't drink it while it's that temperature. Our taste buds aren't able to taste things as well in the extreme temperatures. If you have to have a drink very cold or hot that means you genuinely don't like the taste of it so you mute it with the extreme temperatures(Hard Liquor/Coffee).

I have watched dozens of your videos and I wish I spent half that time actually on a trail. You both are amazing and after recently running across videos of you with your kids, I can't believe you are their parents. You could be older siblings. Must be the constant outdoors. Do you take someone with you who videos or are the parts of you in front taken with a camera left on the trail behind you? Also, if you want to make a really great challenge - give a prize of a 2-3 hike with you in your area to some lucky viewer (costs on them). I would fly in from overseas for a you-guided hike! May you never run out ideas, and may this channel grow and grow.

"Beefaroni" is a Seinfeld reference. It's a very funny episode where Kramer fed a giant can of it to a horse pulling a carriage around Central Park. As you can imagine, it didn't turn out to be very romantic. LOL!!!! Love seeing you and Susie enjoying adventures together. My husband and I enjoy going on cycling adventures. It's such a special blessing to be able to do something like that with your spouse. I wish it for everyone.

What a great adventure and location. Two nights is the way to go for sure. There is more for us to see, and you guys have more time to enjoy the quiet and beauty out there! I can't wait to see Susi's review of the pants. They seemed pretty neat.
