Fact #6The easynes of modifying the console itself with a chip that allowed copying cd would play a major factor of cost and players could possess a LOT of games for cheap.

The playstation and the ps2 crushed everything at that time and the ps2 was the golden age of gaming imo,so many great games came out for that system and there was no seasons passes ,dlc and microtransactions either just a lot of great games.I still have my ps2 and my ps3 and even though i do most of my gaming on pc now days, every now and then i fire up the old ps2 and play some old ps1 and ps2 games.

I watched this video through the TVclip app on my PS3 before commenting.
Also, I want to point out that the Sony Play Station Super Disc for SNES was actually revealed at the 1991 Summer CES in Chicago (which was held in June) and not the Winter CES held in Las Vegas (held in January).

PS was my second console, my first was Acetronic with cartridge. The games were basic and expensive from pong to space invaders, but I bought the PS principally because I knew how to hack it, but despite that I only owned a few choice games which I had bought. I moved onto the Wii principally to play with the Wii Fit with balance board and nunchuck which offered accelerometer for gesture control and full 3D motion control never before seen in console games, but I really only used it for the keeping fit stuff but both the PS and wii are just collecting dust now. My passion is and has always been with PC games from Doom to present day Fallout 4. Consoles just don't offer the depth of play you get with a PC game, and I like mouse + keyboard control.

I remember playing PS1 games at home, and Spyro The Dragon got me into gaming in the late 90s.
Ever since then, gaming has become my hobby.
I actually had a Sega Mega Drive before that, but playing on it was merely a side activity besides going out and playing ball. Most probably because my parents also made me go out, but gaming wasn't the issue back then, in the mid 90s.
Our family friends had a Windows 95 computer, and later 98. Whenever my parents went to them, they would tell me to go and play with their son on the computer; or simply watch him or his father play games like the original Age of Empires, Age of Empires II, Twinsen's Odyssey (Little Big Adventure 2), Abe's Oddysee etc, though I barely remember some of the older DOS games (although I have played some with my friend). Ever since, I secretly wanted to go there every day, and whenever we went to their visit, I was so happy.
I remember when I went with my parents to visit my cousin in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There, there was a gaming club where you could play games and you could choose either PC or PS1. I saw someone playing Spyro The Dragon, and I was like: "Mom, I need to have this game!".
I fell in love with it so much that I simply had to have it at home. So - Spyro The Dragon was one of my first PS1 games, if not the first. Of course, I even played and bought the older games for PS1, but Spyro was where it all started for me. I started playing games at home more and more, and have been playing them 'actively' since 1997-8.
    God, I feel old.

Was not able to be a part of PS era, but my first console #PS2 changed my life, I now have #PS4(s) for the experience I had on the #PS2. I played #NFSMostWanted and #GrandTheftAutoSanAndreas, and never felt something like that, a far distance apart is #GodofWar I and II, and NFS Carbon. Thank you for your awesome contents. It's been a pleasure. Can you make video on history of Camera, starting Nikon? It would be something, every #Nikon guy is looking forward to. And please make some vidoes on Game companies like #RockstarNorth, #EA, #Bethesda, etc and their games. :D :D :D

My first game system was the Sega 16 Bit. Then my friends introduced the Sony Playstation. That was how I found out about Arsenal and Juventus respectively. I did not expect Sony Playstation's success in the gaming industry as Sega Saturn was going strong. In the end, I have a collection of PS4 games which remind me of both my childhood and teenage years.

I love how everyone just ignores the fact that Sony, in typically, shamelessly arrogant fashion, tried to screw Nintendo in the first place, thinking they had them over a barrel with the SNES CD, demanding 100% of the profit from game sales. Is Nintendo completely innocent for ditching them the way they did? Of course not, but only a complete idiot would go through with the deal they were backed into a corner with.

My favorite PS memory, would be right after graduation from Uni. Me and 4 of my friends. Spent 2 weeks of non-stop PS2. RAD, Resident Evil 4, Samurai Warriors, Rise to Honor were few of the games we played. Two weeks of not giving any care to the world. Two weeks of Mountain Dew and chips. Two weeks before the storm we now call life. That also served as my bachelor party, as it was weeks before I got married.
