Here it is! The full flight from DFW-JLN that eventually leads to a diversion to SGF and eventual return to JLN due to strong storms in the Joplin, MO area. It may be long, but it's a good one! Enjoy!

Why would pilots even attempt to fly in this kinda weather?

Wow So It was a quick flight from Springfield to Joplin. Just fly over I-44.

A pilot providing wind information at the destination airport provides an incentive to book a later flight.

What an extraordinary professionals. This performance is more than executing the job or responsibility. This is downright in charity territory (use the strength to help people). What a calm set of pilots and passengers. I would have lost it between 31:30 - 32:30. What a video. Fantastic job - Skylite Productions. My sincere appreciation to everyone involved here.

Those guys earned their pay that day. That wing drop on short final looked pretty extreme! I can't imagine the video does it justice. Great catch.

The video doesn't really do it justice. We came very close to landing short of the runway here. Thankfully the pilots did exactly what they should've done. Thanks for watching my friend!

Is it just me or the takeoff was actually smoother than usual?

    • Skylite Productions
      Skylite Productions  8 months ago

Well that depends on which takeoff you're referring too. There are two takeoffs in this video. One from DFW and one from SGF.

Near circular cloud pattern on final landing.

That's exactly what you want to see on final right? Thanks for watching my friend!

    • Skylite Productions
Skylite Productions  8 months ago +2

Yes, during the landing we were hit with some very strong wind shear. Even the flight back from SGF to JLN was full of very turbulent air. Thanks for watching my friend!

At least they let you wait the storm out in SGF inside the terminal.

    • Skylite Productions

Yeah they actually pulled the jet bridge and all of the equipment away from the plane so it wouldn't be damaged. Plus, it allowed me to charge my camera for a bit. Thanks for watching!

No safety briefing for the second boarding?

    • virginiaplanespotter
      virginiaplanespotter 8 months ago

Skylite Productions I actually was on a diverted flight once where we got off then back on, and they made us do the briefing again.... weird. CLE-DCA and we diverted to ORF.

I am assuming since this was still technically the same flight, and it had the same flight number that they weren't required to do the safety briefing again. We also didn't gain any new passengers, so it wasn't like a through flight where half of the people stay on while you gain new passengers. I could be wrong, but that was my interpretation of why they didn't do another safety briefing.
