    Desert spiny lizards are such BEAUTIFUL creatures. I caught one in my backyardthat was even bigger than this one believe it or not. I know he was a male because on his belly, he had the most awe inspiring metallic purple patch; and Coyote, you were right when you said these guys are fast. However, they are surprisingly friendly. Many times, my mom would be feeding our giant sulcata tortoises, and when she was still bent over giving them lettuce, this gorgeous little guy would walk up to my mom and start eating the lettuce not one foot from my mom's hands. Sometimes we see ten or more running and scurrying in our backyard.

    spiny lizards boys can get so-so much bigger, and their colors are way out there. I don't recommend trying to catch them though, since they sometimes bunk with rattlesnakes
