Damn cables. Everything should be wireless these days. These cables will be breaking non-stop. This thing is wobbly and shaky, and the cable connectors and sockets are going to get broken.

A tip from a person doing games like that, cool your phone with USB mini fan, then you won't see any throttling.
And mobile phone desktop mode like Samsung DeX is future. I really looking forward to Android Q.

    • Montisaquadeis
      Montisaquadeis 21 day ago

NOT very usable when you have a PC and NOT an Apple product and it doesn't work well for those of us who prefer android devices over iOS ones. since we are stuck using wireless mode with the likes of Duet and iDisplay and the others. I have looked into a good chunk of them trying to get something usable for my laptop but NONE of them were and thus I just picked up a $170 Portable 15.6" 1080p IPS display that uses Mini HDMI and USB for power which is worlds better then any of those apps ever got close to doing

    • Montisaquadeis
      Montisaquadeis 21 day ago

You could do that using apps like iDisplay and Duet Display on both Android and iOS tablets. Both apps are free. But a heads up you will suffer MASSIVE 1sec+ lag/latency if you go the wireless option with the apps tho but that is with Android and Windows ios+MacOSX allows you to use a cable which will drop the lag immensely

  • wololo10
    wololo10 26 days ago

lag is usable? Is the worst I've ever seen.

  • a5cent

Why do you think this is a power issue? As far as I can the color issues and lack of brightness are entirely intentional, and would be in place even if unlimited power. Like you said, they are attempting to limit their risk of having to replace panels with burn in. In contrast to television, which typically show constantly changing content, the menu bars and status bars of applications on PC applications will stay on-screen and unchanged for hours on end.
I pretty much gave up on OLED two years ago and I think this monitor makes it clear that the problems the technology has always had aren't going away, because they are inherent to OLED.

Might be late for the party, but G-Story is a chinese company manufacturing portable gaming displays (120Hz and freesync, but no gtg response time to be seen). I'm thinking about using the 17.3" with 120hz refresh rate or the 15.6" 4K one for a "portable" mini-itx build. They are sold in amazon, but this is their official website in case you decide to give it a go (now that you are getting stuff from china :P)
