    I always cook rice in more water then strain all the water when rice is 95 percent cooked. This way it is always fluffy and rice doesn't stick. This is South Indian style of cooking rice.

      Unless you are using flavored water, oil is fine. Butter is better. Lard is best. Ghee ia GOD. Use Ghee.

    star anus sounds not good... steel doesn't sharpen the knife it just straightens the edge because using the knife causes the very tip to fold over so the steel straightens that back out but you can't sharpen an actually dull knife with a steel you need a sharpening stone. rice should be brought to a boil and then turned off.. it will continue to absorb the water perfectly but won't overcook

      turning off only works with a normal oven where the pot is in an actual hot stove. it doesn't work with induction or gas where the heat is gone as soon as you turn the oven off.

    Someone I knew added a little orange Tang to his rice to make a Mandarin-orange-style rice. I enjoy adding butter and beef grease or bacon fat (or all of the above) to mine.
    If you wanna get hoity toity like ol' Gordo here, you can add your saffron and albino goat tears in, too, though.

    well in Guatemala we wash the rice and put it to dry. then dry. We fry the frying pan with oil and fry it and add optional vegetables previously chopped into small strips such as chayote carrot tomato onion. we fry it for a short time with the rice and we calculate the water after we add salt or consome to your liking.🍜🍴😘😘😘

    LOL! Gordon keeps jumping around like a child with way too much energy. It's kind of funny to see him spazzing out like that.
    Why would he put oil in the water when cooking the pasta? I know he said it's to stop the pasta from sticking; but, it leaves the pasta unable to absorb flavors from sauces. If the "pasta + olive oil + salt + pepper combination" is how he eats his pasta, then, what he did is fine. However, if adding your flavorful sauces, DO NOT add oil to the water.
