And what if you mix both acids?Or what if you poured 14k gold in the acid while it was still molten, could the acid get to all the silver then?

  • Dylan Dunn
    Dylan Dunn 3 months ago

So could you make a fine gold powder by just dissolving the silver. Also how would this work with other finely mixed alloys where an acid only dissolves one of the metals. If a fine powder did form would it have a finer grain than dropping gold out of solution since it doesn't have the change to crystallize in the same way? Great video btw!

Suppose aqua regia did not exist in the vapor phase and was confined to the liquid phase at all temperatures and pressures. To dissolve only the gold could you then react the aqua regia with molten gold-silver combinations to dissolve only the gold? or would this process of inquarting still be necessary?

Sorry to tell you that you made a mistake. Silver could be easily dissolved in aqua regia because it would form HAgClβ‚‚ instead of AgCl, just as gold forming HAuClβ‚„.

Why not use some commands? I know it's just a fast demonstration, and a very good one, but commands would have made it much easier. You might have been able to use actual renamed potions. All you need are a scoreboard, some dummy objectives, a /fill clock and the /execute @p command.
