These people are relatives, NOT Atatiana's "NEXT of KIN" which is her MOTHER & FATHER. NOT a Aunt or even siblings. Her "NEAREST/NEXT of KIN" are her Parents. The Aunt didn't Birth her that is not her place to be making JUDGEMENT CALLS nor the brother. If the FATHER wants to Pay for his daughter's funeral. That's honorable. The Greedy Aunt needs to FIND another "MEAL TICKET" and so does
    LEE "SMUTZ" MERRITT 😀

Can't rely on a justice system that was never designed to do anything but control and eliminate us as a people. Glad an arrest was made but it means nothing. Until he's sentenced for life or dealt with otherwise this isn't a victory. In fact a one rare time where justice is on our side isn't a victory. It's not a victory until the corrupted racist system changes.

Sadly, under the 5th Amendment, this now ex-officer Aaron Dean, has no obligation to explain his actions. So, Atatiana's family may never have full closure. Additionally, even though Aaron Dean was arrested, he is now "free on bond". An "ordinary citizen" would have most likely been "denied bail". The rest of the Fort Worth PD is trying to "distance themselves" from this ex-officer, but for some odd reason, the "other officer" who was at the scene who ALSO failed to identify himself to the occupants of the home, is not being held accountable for his actions.

This was a tragedy. However, people must understand that cops see evil more often than the normal person. Their job causes them to think the worst possible scenario. Therefore, I believe this officer must have thought the woman was a bad guy. I don’t think it’s just for this officer to be charged with murder.

I'm starting to feel some kinda way about the RIP references. I do it too, like when something is so egregious that you don't know what else to say, so we just go, Test in Peace. However, I'm not sure that a person who is murdered at such a young age for absolutely no reason at all can simply Rest in Peace?
These senseless murders at the hands of so-called Law Officers keep happening, and the system keeps allowing them to walk free?
I don't think anyone should be at peace until Justice is Served and systems are transformed, by any means necessary, as Malcolm would say..
    Rest in Power..

Cop was called to a house cuz the door was open. Cop entered the house while searching spotted 2 guns on the floor. He then shined a light towards the window where he spotted someone, Drew his gun and fired. Cop was on edge not knowing what he walked into, sees 2 guns now he’s alert, gets startled by someone outside the window and reacts

    • Chris E.
      Chris E. 28 days ago +1

JUST STOP!!! You are twisting the facts already! Cops never entered the home until after she was shot. There's no way he could see any guns inside the house during the 2-3 seconds he shone the light on window, yelled then fired his weapon.

Don't agree with the narrative of murder I don't think it fits the case. I do agree with a few decades in prison for negligent homicide or manslaughter. Statistically those fit the narrative better. Either way I guess it's semantics. Long as we get at least a 10 to 12 year sentence it will statistically be justice. If you look up the average time spent in prison for 1st degree murder with premeditation and aggravated circumstances it's only 13 years of a 25 year sentence.

I am SO sorry this has happened to your family. It is breaking my heart. Officers need to carry their OWN insurance policies, so the taxpayers don't have to bear the burden...I'd bet they wouldn't be so trigger happy if that was the case. However, is very EASY for a cop to get a new profession, because a BEAUTICIAN has to have more education than a cop does....true story. Speaking of insurance...SUE THE CRAP OUT OF THAT CITY. Rest in peace, Atatiana...your family is fighting for you. The ONLY thing that's going to STOP this from happening is MONEY, and when all of the cities go bankrupt from the lawsuits these THUGS keep bringing in...the shootings will stop.
