    Wow, you shattered the wine glass from farther away than anybody else! That means you have perfect pitch. Would love to see more glasses broken, perhaps with several different size crystal glasses to creste different tones, within the same song...and then smile. fade to black.

      No... Learn Physics! Sound waves are vibrations and all materials have a resonance frequency which is the frequency it will tend to vibrate. So if vibrations with the same frequency as the resonance frequency will cause the molecules to vibrate and increased volume can make the glass hit its "threshold" causing it to shatter. You can see her tapping it to hear what the resonance frequency. She can then imitate the frequency but at a higher volume. Glass typically shatters at about 500 hz and 100 db. This works on rocks for example, however rock have a higher resonance frequency.

      The resonant frequency is a pitch dumbass, so it's both volume and pitch but if she can hit the pitch well enough (she can't) she wouldn't have to sing so fucking ear piercingly loud, so consider her volume a crutch.

      @KynigosTheWolf ohh aight

    • KynigosTheWolf
      KynigosTheWolf 3 years ago +18

      +Jazmin Flores It isn't the pitch that breaks the glass, it's the volume. Every object vibrates at what is called a resonant frequency(that's why she tapped the glass, so she could hear it) and when you match the resonant frequency at enough volume, the waves hit it almost like a solid.

    You're all idiots, it's completely possible. Maybe you should understand basic physics before making ignorant outlandish claims without any foundation of knowledge. The phenomenon is known as resonance, when the same intrinsic frequency of another object is mirrored by an individual (who admittedly must possess great talent and ability), then the object will begin to vibrate. The vibrations are occurring due to the energy being transmitted in the form of longitudinal sound waves. Given that they are vibrating at the same frequency as the sound generated by the soprano, then the bonds in the wine glass will shatter. Learn your information before making stupid comments please.

      Al527 2 years ago

      Simplified version: the sound waves vibrate the glass till the bonds shatter

    to everyone who think it is fake? its not. myth busters tested it. as long as it is the same note, and loud enough. it does not have to be the same octave. you can do it. sing a "c" loud enough. doesn't need to be too high, though it will work better if higher. you see she tested the resonance at the beginning. the "clinking", if matched by a singer will shatter.
