+The Food Ranger, what's the name of the restaurant you had the wanton noodle at? I'm more or less acquainted with Chinatown, but I couldn't recognize that joint. Would help if you tell me, so that I can go there the next time I'm in Chinatown.

The chinese community in india came to india during the time of the chinese cultural revolution . Their food is primarily originating from the Sichuan province of china. Pronounced as schezwan in india. They used indian spices in their cooking which lead to the first fusion food in the subcontinent. On a side note - you find fusion food among all immigrant communities worldwide. You would be interested to know that indian immigrants to south africa have invented their own indian dish called bunny chow which has no connection to india. It consists of a loaf of bread stuffed with curry made from African spices.

This is so confusing. It would have been nice to know more of the history of the chinese community but of course this is a food vlog.
Can someone tell me why and how there is a chinese community in kolkata? If they are old settlers living in the area for many years then how do they still speak mandarin and retain their authentic cuisine?
But then if they are recent immigrants then why was there one man who spoke indian english but no mandarin?
Also what is the reason for them living there? Were the original settlers of kolkata chinese? Did their ancestors migrate or flee to kolkata at some point? Did they immigrate themselves for some reason? Are they just visiting temporarily and selling food like a mobile food truck ?
