Why the US and Iran are fighting over this tiny waterway

  • Published on Aug 22, 2019
  • The Strait of Hormuz, “the jugular of the global economy," has become a useful bargaining chip for Iran.

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway that lies between Iran and Oman. This 21 mile-wide passage supports 20% of the world’s oil supply. A closure of this waterway could send the global economy into a tailspin.
In recent months, several oil tankers have been seized, attacked and harassed. These oil tankers - and this narrow water passage - are at the center of the conflict between the US and Iran. It's a conflict that spans decades and has the potential to escalate in one of the world’s most important oil chokepoints.

I don't know why people are criticizing the US for getting involved in the Tanker War when they are the same people who would complain if their oil prices jumped to $7.00 a gallon like in 1973. Pick a side....

Why not build a oil pipeline from est to west saudi? Expel the need for the Hormoz strait. The saudi could pay for it in exchange for futher oil dominance.

      Imagine a world where no US fleets policing the seas;
I could see the current superpowers(esp Russia & China) would have annexed their surrounding countries with relative ease. And the arab states or the middle east may finally be unified perhaps(ofc through force coz everyone there has different intrepetation of Islam).

And US would have more money/funding for themselves that they would've no problems with immigrants from all over the world.

You somehow forgot first to mention the Iranian tanker that was seized before the British tanker. If you were truthful you would have mentioned it.
Than you talk the nonsense you make of the cover up story. You’re nothing but hoax

    1. People who don't know anything about the US's place in history and current affairs: The US is great!
    2. People who know a bit about the US's track record in history and current affairs: The US is an evil empire!
    3. People who actually know a lot about the US's international track record: Yeah... On the whole it's one of the least terrible interventionist countries on earth. And at least it's not Russia or China, because they aren't fun.

7:51 Main cause for dropping of GDP is because of Donald Trump.... Barack Obama tried to prevent this disaster which Iranians were facing and we want Barack Obama back as the president of U.S. but because of Donald Trump, Iran is suffering again after their drop in GDP growth.... No offense but that is the truth.... And no negative comment plz, thank you!!!

Ah! The reason for the British ship's conquest was that: the British ship disregarded Iranian law and dumped its litter in the Persian Gulf, and Britain had seized the Adrian II ship in the Strait of Bab al-Mandeb by spying and circumventing maritime laws. There is something we have been saying in Iran.
And this is my sentence for Western politicians:
((All Adrian ۱ fuel discharged in Syria))

Your last point does not make much sense, "Iran is attacking other countries tankers to encourage them to stick to the deal". That literally makes no sense, I have never heard of anyone attacking someone to keep peace. You attack others to start a war, then eventually you get peace depending on the victor. But other then your final point it was a good little documentary.

They shot down a passenger plane and got away by saying Sorry?! They can possess nuclear weapon but when Iran does it to protect themselves from foreign invasion that is Dangerous? Soverignty is a human right. They aided Iraq to literally invade Iran, and no body says anything
