Hey girl! These look really good for your first time but I just to let you know, there are some other WAYYYY cheaper ways of do this! For my pieces I use a paint conditioner called Floetrol. The Liquitex pouring medium I’ve seen is around $30 for 32 ounces but the Floetrol is about $25 for a full gallon! And I’ve never used that oil before but it looks like it worked pretty well for you! Normally I use the liquid silicone and I usually only have to use one or two small drops and it lasts soooo long! Also for the corners it’s best if you just do a little bit of “finger painting” and just tap on the corners with some of the excess paint. If you’d like to see some really awesome you tubers who do it I suggest Rio Sares! That’s where I learned!
    Hope this helps!❤️

I think it would be a good idea to buy like a try or something so that u wont have to touch it as much and get the paint all over ur hands and so that the paint all just drips in the tray and will be easier to clean

To save money on your paint (because pours can get expensive!) Get tiny canvases and wiggle them in all the paint that drips off your large canvas. Because it's the same colour scheme you can put the art as a set and hang it all up on a wall or something!

  • ShinyBusterBaby
    ShinyBusterBaby 11 days ago

I don't think they clarified well in that class because it's the silicone that creates the cells, not the torch. The torch brings bubbles created from your dirty pour to the surface of your painting. Those can possibly bring you some cells but it's basically keeping bubbles out of your surfuce.
The gloves are for a variety of reasons, as you can see it's a messy process but also you can use the paint that ran off your canvas to touch up the sides and corners. Also, the gloves are key when using certain pouring mediums, which may be very hard to remove. Like resin, if you decide to use it, don't put it in anything other an silicone or something that can immediately be thrown away or else it will mess up you good supplies.
This was awesome, BTW. I'm going to start pouring myself, this year as well. I'm still gathering supplies.

I love paint pouring! Really cool to see you try this out. Next time grab some floetrol (you can get it on amazon and some hardware stores if you’re lucky) I use it to break up the pouring medium. Also instead of water I use airbrush medium so it doesn’t break up the paint as much! Hope that helps. Love your vids as usual. Happy painting!

  • brikhouse22

This was painful to watch....paint EVERY WHERE lol. Turn the canvas face down on the top of the cup and then flip them over together and THEN lift the cup. And once you lift the cup just let it do it's thing for a few mins. You're tilting the canvas right away (or so it seem, maybe editing?) and most of the paint falls right off the side with the first tilt, you don't give it time to create it's own pattern and swirl. You tilt it once it's spread most of the way so you can cover the corner. Clearly YOU can do what you want, just saying this is how it's normally done.

How did you manage to keep your shirt clean? I always get so messy.
You don’t really need the oil. It might cause the painting to yellow over time.
The flame helps getting the bubbles out. And you can get a tiny cheap nozzle for the butane can to help fill the torch.

You need a stash of rags/towels/washcloths to have handy when you art. That way, you can wipe off and open the door. Or, use one to open the door. I get mine from the dollar store's and Target has those cheap stacks of washcloths tied together for a few bucks. Cheaper than paper towels, just hand wash them out and you're good to go.

So in general I think that acrylic pouring is just about the laziest excuse for "art" ever....but that first blue one in particular was legit so pretty that you made me like acrylic pouring for a few minutes, so congrats. I wouldn't even be mad to hang that one up.
I think minimalism is key here, I've seen so many pours that just look like rainbow upchuck. You had some good color combos.
