Today I tried to do an acrylic pour for the first time, a lot of paint, mess, and cool canvases. Is it worth all the fuss? Yes, absolutely.
I actually was not aware Jenna Marbles did this as a challenge until uploading this video, but in case you haven't seen it, heres a link to her acrylic pour video!
I've since found out two other youtubers have made similar videos with Skillshare as a sponsor - this is complete coincidence I swear haha. Great minds think alike! I've had this video idea planned since October and the video itself has been in the works for a month now and due to waiting for approval and delay during the holidays, I'm glad I can finally upload it!

I have done 6 paint pours so far and I found the runnier( however it is spelled) is better for cover the whole canvas without using all of your paint. And if it doesn’t cover the whole canvas you can do another cup full over top of the first.

Girl lol you need 40 grams color to 10 grams pouring medium and only two dips silicone. Side note you can use mini paper cups! They’re recyclable and you’re not wasting as much plastic and killing the environment. Save the turtles πŸ˜‚! Otherwise good on you for trying something new. Ps cool trick is to try to layer the colors while tilting the cup to a 45 degree angle. It will provide your work of art with a whole new life. Ps you can reuse the paint that runs off and you get the corners by wiping them with your fingers. You got this. Good on you for trying! Also there wasn’t Cells on your painting but if you use heat it activates the properties in the paint to burst the air bubbles and make them.

Ahaha between this and your video with the pastels where you cursed out their texture, I'm reminded of why I 1) put a glove dispenser under my desk, 2) replaced the doorknob to my art room with a door handle

Be warned this is very addictive, if it had been around in the 60s, no one would have needed drugs. The colours can be fabulous and you have little control over
the pattern but it is fun, many artists quit painting to just pour paint. Way too much fun, but it is legal so far.

I know I’m late but you should do another video of one of these and then once it’s dry, pour a layer of resin over it. I hear it really makes the colors pop and it protects the painting.

For being a you tuber I'm surprised you didn't research more acrylic pouring TVcliprs. Anne Marie Ridderhof, mixed media girl and Paul Startart to name a few that have tutorials and amazing pouring videos. Sorry but the skill videos you watched on pouring was not a good way to learn. I don't mean to pick apart this video but that was so bad. Lol. Please watch a few others cause I think you'll be shocked and love the results you can achieve when done right. Cheers

This technique would make a great base to paint on, either while wet (and either using another colour or just using like a toothpick to create designs in the wet paint) or when dry. I think it would work better with a tub to pour the run off into. It'd be definitely interesting to play around with different consistencies and different mediums in the paint. And maybe using a lot less paint so that when you turn it over it only covers that initial circle in the middle of the canvas (rather than being too thick & needing spreading out)...and that's the picture (possibly with specifically painted embellishments in/around/coming from it)... so so many possibilities. But, it is a very messy method though & I currently don't have the space to do it πŸ˜•.

Avoid the fame thing, buy plenty of pouring medium. Got it! :D These were great! Definitely would love to try it. Especially with a touch of silver and gold or even bronze and other metallic colours to go with regular colours. Just to add that little something extra. Thanks for sharing this with us, including the tips and tricks!

Her excitement with how cool and pretty the first pour was, was so cute to watch because I've done this before and understand EXACTLY how she feels. It really does feel so cool and amazing to just be able to pour paint on something and have it turn out so pretty and awesome. You can also use small(or big, it depends on preference) tiles. They work just as well.
