I wonder if Dumphf's strategy is to have the government shutdown for as long as possible,to then reallocate the $ that would have been those government workers incomes,to the wall?? It's super obvious that his inflated intensity re: the wall over the last couple weeks is because he is finally realizing that there is no hope for a second term and he will be remembered as the worst potus ever. A physical structure, like a wall would be the only notable thing that wouldn't soon be forgotten..A terrible memory for most, and a triumph for the bone headed, like minded idiots that agree with it being erected. Bonus!!!!!He'll likely be in jailed at some point either, during his laughable attempt at leadership,or sometime after.Life is gonna suck for him when he is not potus...Likely become a hermit.

Good interview, however it's really hard to keep track with your mind the points other people wish to bring across, when they speak broken English the way they've just done. They just need to stop doing that because the way Americans talk quite often give me headaches. If you ended up babbling because of stress because you are on a show then that's understandable, but one should look into that as well, such as doing some practice on public speaking and how to speak in crowds.

Impossible that he doesn't understand.. it's just sabotage, either the shutdown makes the government disfunctionnal and it creates discords, or americans pay for a stupid wall that achieves nothing increasing their dept and further deteriorating the public image, fueling into the nationnalist and racist ideologies.
He's not working for the american people, same as the pro-corporate politicians, they understand the increasing wealth inequality but still give everything to corporations, it's not a failure, it's a success, they just don't represent the population's interest, that's why they do the same thing over and over again, that's also why Trump takes decisions so detrimental to the country repetitively, either by placing puppets and incompetents in high positions in the government, signing laws detrimental to americans and that he's seeking to create discord and distrust with USA's long time allies.
It should be obvious, that it is not a matter of "incomprehension".

Trump murdered his conscience decades ago and there is so much evidence of that. Just lately it's been found out that he's helped himself to donated money for charities. No pity, no kindness and a frozen heart. He's killed two children and the last one, an eight year old boy died on Xmas day and Trump said and did nothing! And because he's a child he will never take responsibility for anything. He was taught by a very evil man, Roy Cohns three things. When you're in the wrong never apologize, deny, deny, deny and if they sue you for a million you sue them for ten million dollars! And he's followed that advise for decades. He's even sued Putin!! I think that was the day Putin showed Trump his sex tape with the prostitutes in Moscow. That shut Trump up quickly and the irony was that Putin had leant Trump a billion dollars because no bank in America would. Think about that. Not one financial institution would loan a loser one penny because they knew from personal experience Trump wouldn't pay them back their money. He proved that when he couldn't pay banks back for the casinos mess. His Father illegally tried to help with just the interest but it wasn't enough so he helped again. But Don had been stupid once again to get money that he took out a loan or a bunch of loans at huge rates of interest gambling that he'd be able to pay it back and he couldn't even make the interest after awhile and his Father was just throwing away money so he quit. And at the time three advisors of Trump were killed in a helicopter accident and Trump was so depressed he wanted to commit suicide. I think after that he came up with a way to put all emotion away from himself so he won't be hurt again. So he replaces it with anger and throwing tantrums. I wonder if he's actually destroyed anything in the Oval Office? Picked up something and threw it? Wouldn't surprise me. :( Songs

A reporter found out that Trump didn't understand how our government works at all. None of it! This was weeks before he was sworn in. And he asked him when he was going to learn how it works and Trump being the kid he is said, "I'll learn all that stuff when I get in." But he never did. He's been trying to force people to remake the government into what HE wants. The ignorant spoiled brat. He will never get this wall and the more Americans hate him the dangerous it is going to be for him to come out of the White House. People will boo him and throw things at him to wake him up to the suffering because he's a child who lives in luxury on our dime and he doesn't get it. If all the White House's staff quit, he might get it then. If the staff told him that they won't work for a person who gets people evicted from their homes because of a wall that only he wants to put his name on, then they won't work for a monster like that. If people refuse to take his immoral orders then he might wake but he not capable of compassion or kindness. When those two children died the coward did nothing. And he's the reason they died. Apathy. He's not capable of feeling anything for other human beings because the world only centers around him. That's how evil he really is. How selfish. Just like Satan wanting God to move over and let him be God!! Trump is a son of Satan as the Bible says, "Satan is the father of lies." Well, he sure has a lot of sons and daughters and Trump is one of them as well as Pence whose defended Don until the day when he believes Trump will be kicked out and he will be in. Which isn't going to happen. The pretend Christian isn't going to be seeing the Oval Office after we kick them both out. We've had enough of both these liars. :( Songs

"Not to cover the noise." Great idea Chris.
I've long held the belief that you stop the idiocy by refusing to cover it. This first came to me with the death of Princess Diana when her driver tried to evade paparazzi.
What's rewarded is repeated. It's basic human nature. Remove the reward, say, a narcissist gets from the attention his braindead tweets receive, and he'll move on. He literally has to because that's what drives his behavior.
DJT lies whenever his lips are moving, or his fingers touch a keyboard. Don't republish his what he says or writes. Don't analyze it, or require others to defend against it. And, please God, don't interview others blindly following him, believing in the lies that are his stock-in-trade (read Kellyanne Conway).
Maybe give us a daily, fact-checked summary of DJT's shenanigans, balanced by cogent debate on things that truly matter. For example, when DJT wants to spout about the wall over the whine of Marine One in the background, don't be an unwitting accomplice by allowing him to freely use the airwaves to proffer his propaganda. Instead, bring in experts and policy makers to discuss practical solutions to the reasons why people leave their home country to seek safety and security in the United States. Discuss meaningful, comprehensive immigration reforms and smart borders.
In short, don't play into DJT's hand. He's played this country for far too long already. It's past time to reassert control over the political conversation.
Beyond, the wall, let's focus on the damaging consequences of the government shutdown. Talk about how reckless and irresponsible it is to hold hundreds of thousands hostage to extortionist demands.
Talk about the 17 ongoing investigations into every aspect of DJT's life; about his fitness for office.
The wall is a red herring meant to distract from all that exposes DJT for what he really is, then holds him accountable. He's counting on his strategy to work.
Lies die in the light. Keep shining it brightly so all might see.

The name's Lanley, Lyle Lanley. And I come before you good people tonight with an idea. Probably the greatest-Aw, it's not for you. It's more a Shelbyville idea.
    Mayor Quimby:
Now, wait just a minute. We're twice as smart as the people of Shelbyville. Just tell us your idea and we'll vote for it.
    Lyle Lanley:
All right. I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll show you my idea. I give you the Springfield Monorail!
    (everyone gasps)
I've sold monorails to Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook, and, by gum, it put them on the map!
Well, sir, there's nothin' on Earth like a genuine bona-fide electrified six-car monorail! What'd I say?

Monorail...monorail...monorail... (continue over the following lyrics)
    Miss Hoover:
I hear those things are awfully loud.
    Lyle Lanley:
It glides as softly as a cloud.
Is there a chance the track could bend?
    Lyle Lanley:
Not on your life, my Hindu friend.
    Barney Gumble:
    What about us brain-dead slobs?
    Lyle Lanley:
    You'll be given cushy jobs.
    Grampa Simpson:
Were you sent here by the devil?
    Lyle Lanley:
No, good sir, I'm on the level.
    Chief Wiggum:
The ring came off my pudding can.
    Lyle Lanley:
Take my pen knife, my good man.
    I swear, it's Springfield's only choice!
Throw up your hands and raise your voice!
    Lyle Lanley:

B.S. All Trump knows how to do is deflect, distract, divide, and attack. This is nothing more than Trump wanting to shore up his support in the face of real oversight and create a distraction from it. He's thrown 800K people out of work and inconvenienced millions because he only cares about himself. It's the same reason he's waged a treasonous disinformation campaign to undermine a counter-intelligence investigation and appointed a toady as Attorney General after Sessions chose to uphold the rule of law. That self-interested nature is likely how he ended up being compromised by Putin. Our foreign policy favors Russia's goals more than our own. The Secretary of Defense resigned because Trump shows more support for authoritarians than our allies. And like a Walking Russian Troll Farm, Trump attempts to play up divisions rather than uniting the country. Add it all up and it's Russia Winning Bigly."
