  • Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, is the most competitive and highest-profile off-road motorcycle racing championship on the planet. Over 17 weeks between January through May and a million-dollar All-Star Race, Supercross attracts some of the largest and most impressive crowds inside the most recognizable and prestigious stadiums in North America to race in front of nearly one million live fans and broadcast to millions more worldwide. The track takes all the exciting obstacles of outdoor riding-jumps, turns, and bumps-amplifies them, and puts them in easy view of spectators.

Founded in America and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in 1974, Supercross is currently co-sanctioned by the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the official global governing body for motorcycle racing, thus making it a formal World Championship.

Dylan Ferrandis is a snake and should be suspended for a race or two. Needs to grow up and move on to 450 class instead of being the bully in 250's.

the first time ferrandis did that move i thought maybe he miss judged the tight turn, but the second time on the leader was really shameless. There is a difference between a block pass and dangerously cutting in front of another riders line

If the tracks weren't so damn godawful difficult these numerous crashes would happen far less. It's brings the sport and the industry down because many of the top riders are always out injured. And the fans watching these races (especially the moms) See all of this nonsense and tell their young child "There is NO WAY IN HELL YOU ARE RIDING ONE OF THOSE DEATHMACHINES - You are playing flag football instead!" And the sport of motocross continues its downward spiral that has been happening for more than 10 years already. Hardly any of the young children learn to ride dirt bikes anymore, there are almost no young children at the Motocross tracks like there used to be. Racing for the amateurs isn't what it used to be. All because they try to make these damn Supercross track so tricky and Technical that half of the Riders can't even handle it on a regular basis. Sure you can say what you want about in separates men from boys or whatever. But if they want the Youth of the Nation to get in on Motocross (like back in the 80's and 90's), they need to tame down these stupid tracks.
I think the Dirt Wurx crew just likes to impress themselves to see how insanely difficult they can make these tracks. And ends up injuring half of the top Riders by the middle of the season.
(There is no debating this). And this has nothing to do with Dylan Ferrandis riding like a maniac out there. (Ricky Carmichael, Bubba Stewart, even Chad Reed and Travis Pastrana and many other top riders used to do the same thing.)
Oh and I have been riding for more than 40 years, so don't come at me with all that BS about whatever you are thinking. It is the truth that the recreational sport of motocross is about to disappear. And mainly because of what the parents see on television of this Sport. (Same with youth football...)

You guys really suck at your penalizing people. You penalized Faulkner 2 positions for cutting a turn but you see Dylan try and take out both of the GEICO honda riders and you slap his wrist. Sorry but you guys made a mistake, he should have lost the first place, it's easy to see he planned on taking Craig out, there was no letting off the throttle til he was on the ground and even then he still was on the throttle. And then he did the same move to Lawerence but it didn't work the same way, not to mention he did it to Faulkner as well and you guys gave him a slap on the wrist. Fix your system cause it's not looking good for you guys if you keep making these calls.

Craig should have checked up. If you watch the 450 race every time they go over the finish line jump you can see them check if someone is gonna dive on the inside and if someone is there they don't even think about going out of the corner at full speed. It sucks for Craig but he didn't even look when he came out of that corner like a bat out of hell.

Ferrandis move was alright, he was on the inside line, don't even try to block Craig. Craig alone decided to go full gaz to try to pass in force and see the result.
Not the first dumb decision of Craig, it's a habit with this guy.
Ferrandis can go dirty but on this one not his fault at all, he just scrubbed and took the inside.

    • rstephen001
      rstephen001 2 months ago +3

Exactly. How people can not see this is beyond me. In the 450 race you can see every time they go over the finish line they check the inside and guess what if someone is there they know what is going to happen and they check up.

I wonder how many people that complain about dirty riders have battled in the front of the pack. Adrenaline, fatigue, hope,,,,, there's so much to factor in. When you are charging a corner you can't always put the bike 100% where you want it. I seriously doubt that any professional is trying to hurt another rider.

    • FooBar Maximus
FooBar Maximus 2 months ago +1

Almost no one commenting here has any actual motocross racing experience. Much less racing up front as a pro. I raced a few races in my time. In all classes, including pro. These boneheads just don't know. lol It's different when you're out there racing at this level. No way to really explain it, but yes - you are correct. Very few riders would actually risk injury or losing positions by trying to take someone out. It happens, but it is rare.

I've read comments back and forth on whether it was "just racing" or "Dirty move." Regardless of my judgement, I think it was an example of what NOT TO DO from a pass standpoint. These guys ride on the razor's edge all the time and calculating lines that intersect and one racers choice versus' anothers happens. I guess that's what the FIM or AMA were trying to determine and ultimately sided w/ Dylan. Although Dylan might want to have "eyes" roaming around him b/c others took noticed as well and I feel payback is set up now. Any move that takes you out also isn't a good move. The risk versus' reward isn't a good calculation. Just my 2 cents worth! On a final note....when are teams going to go NASCAR on other teams like fistacuffs! If you are a nobody, then you will get suspended, but if you have a big rig....I dont think the FIM will threaten a teams defense of its rider. Risking a livelihood to a rider/team w/ a serious break or career ending injury is nothing to bite your lip on.....plus, it would be great fan appreciation seeing a brawl.

I'd be interested to see how all the people defending Ferrandis would react if that was done to them. I wonder if they'd feel it was dirty to go for the take out on the first pass attempt... Ferrandis has been riding like if the no.1 plate gave him the right to just move people over like that since the first round, making some really aggressive passes and it ended up biting him.

Blatant intentional take out on Craig by Ferrandis. You know it’s plain dirty because if Craig wasn’t there to act as the square edge to bank off, Ferrandis would’ve wadded into the mechanics area. I’m all for block passes, rubbing, and even taking guys wide into the tough blocks if they don’t check up, heck even brake slide a guys front tire if he has it coming... but that was a straight bullshit to new hit job by Ferrandis a la Alessi on tickle and the AMA needs to enforce the freaking rules. If reed got black flagged for Canard then I don’t see how Frogandis didn’t at least get docked positions and $$$

Ricky, your the GOAT, but your insight has been lacking this year. It was a straight t-bone. Dylan used Craig as a berm and still came in too fast that he put himself down (that's racing, and I agree with the AMA's decision). I know it's early and you'll improve Ricky...but I'm really missing the Fro. Emig's call it like you see it style made the races more entertaining. Hoping you can remove some of the sugar coating.

    • Noah Lane
Noah Lane 2 months ago +2

WILLY MANSILLA - you’d think they would want that just as much as the racers. These companies invest all kinds of money into racers, to see that investment get violently smashed like Dungey did to Stew in ‘16 or Ferrandis/Craig. I think they need to make racing safer so the companies will be willing to pay these guys more, as it’d be less likely for them to get injured.

Exactly. Ppl acting like no ones ever gone down in a corner before. Wasn’t deliberate. Isn’t a dirty rider. I can show u 100000 examples of what is dirty riding. That wasn’t it

If Dylan hadn't hit Craigs rear tire he would've ended up on the ground anyhow, people are going to get tired of that dirty racing.

You're wrong on several counts. This exact thing has happened forever, and the AMA / FIM does nothing - because the fans LOVE it. Banging bars sells tickets. That is a well-known fact in racing, and it always has been. This isn't soccer, dude. This is a rough sport where people get injured or killed all the time.

Ferrandis should have been black flagged or at least docked 3 positions. He doesn't know how to make a pass w/out contact. Jett better quit riding so far over his head or he'll have a short career, same with Forkner, that arrogant kid hasn't learned anything after all that time injured. To finish first, first you must finish.

Good race from Jett Laurence, gained a new fan. Forkner talking about crushing everyone ends up crushing himself in the whoops. Ferrandis being an A rated asshole again, hope Craig is OK.

Whether you thought the move was dirty or not, you Americans weren’t saying dirty dog when hmmm let me think.... Osborne, barcia, dungey, Stewart, alessi all done worse passes. It looked worse than it was because Graigs back wheel flipped of the berm and spat him off, It’s supercross, and ferandis is going for the title and won’t he denied. Bummed for Lawrence tho he was doing so well maybe went a little over his head in the moment but who can blame him he nearly won at 16! Very impressive

Chad Reed made a living off of this type of pass. Though granted, he ain't a real American. Point well made.

Dylan "Bam Bam" Ferrandis, Dylan "Rollerball" Ferrandis. Dylan hit Folkner, Lawrence and Craig. Looked like racing in the 1980's guys like Howerton, Hannah, Jo Jo Keller, Jim Holley (Holley was nice off the track but would use his strength on the track), Ron Lechien (smashed or cross jumped Rick Johnson every chance he got) or Ross Pederson.

Just like Osborn on Savatgy or Barcia passes or Dungey on Stewart the same but nobody says is dog or dirty racer in this case ! American rager only

@MrrcDrrd we have a lot of other example of agressive passes like this one ! like Bower on Webb its the same but we didnt say nothing like that ! I didnt say that was a good pass but he dont have to receive message from "frustrating hater" ! its supercross and its for a championship

    • MrrcDrrd
      MrrcDrrd 2 months ago +1

I think every one was on board that Osborns pass on Savatgy was dirty but it was the last lap on the last race for a championship. Dungeys move on Stewart wasn’t intentional. If you watch the replay he missed his rear brake and it was too late.

He fucking straight T-boned Craig. I've been watching this sport 35+yrs and that was straight pathetic and the little boy Ferrandis needs a serious lesson. How pathetic he must feel by now.....

Excellent.. he should be booed... keep it up. He front in did wash out a bit in the crash with Craig but still no excuse, if you fast then ride cleanly.... had had plenty of time and didn't;t need to ride like a spaz.

Uck me RC go out of the middle ground for once that Fernandis pass on Craig was terrible and could have been a career ender. He should have the book thrown at him. Not the first time he has done it.
