What Is Milan-Style Pizza? | Food Skills

  • Published on Mar 26, 2018
  • From Neapolitan and Sicilian to Detroit-style and deep dish, NYC is a wonderland for regional pizza styles. Now, a cheesy, soufflé-like pie from Milan is set to take the five boroughs by storm. Enter: The Big Ragu, the latest slice shop from cousins Francis Garcia and Sal Basille of Artichoke Pizza fame. Using a special, rotating oven, the Big Ragu creates a pie that's crisp on the bottom and perfectly doughy through the center. Serving slices cut into cubes-and enjoyed with a controversial fork-these Staten Island natives are challenging the ways New Yorkers see pizza. Love it or hate it, just remember one thing: At the Big Ragu, the sauce is the boss.

There's no actual Milan style pizza! There are a couple of places that make it similar to this one, but they would never use onions etc for the sauce... It just seems very much American

+gnamorfra of course it's just a stereo type..I think It only sounds Italian if you do not actually speak Italian and just going by the tone..I'm sure not all Italian Americans sound like that..but if you were making a cartoon with Italian American characters from New York..they would sound exactly like these guys..I think they know that and they like it.

    • gnamorfra
      gnamorfra 7 days ago

+abdo H I know the family Guy episode! That doesn't sound "Italian" to me (I'm a native speaker), it's probably a stereotyped Italian American accent, isn't it? I'm no expert... I'm just curious ahaha
