I am 30years old. I have never been pregnant until I found out unexpectedly roughly a month ago that I was indeed pregnant. I made the decision to terminate the pregnancy. This abortion has not been without complications, to say the least. Point being, I am so thankful for this show. I've been a fan since the daily show and have watched every Full Frontal episode from day 1. I am so thankful to have the support behind the right to do with my body as I choose and to have some comic relief to go with it really helped me to know I was simply exercising my constitutional right and have a few good laughs at the same time. I'm not a fan of our current president but I am so glad I am protected and live in the liberal state that I do that the care I sought was affordable and accessible. Planned Parenthood is a saving grace for many, many women and men as well. Thank you to Full Frontal, I spent a lot of time in bed after my procedure and did a lot of binge watching of Ms. Sam Bee. Fabulous comedian, talented writers and staff. Thank you. From the bottom of my f*cking heart, you all helped me through a very difficult time. Stay funny. Love you -L

i wish we could move away from cissexist assumptions in abortion debates... obviously a lot of the issue here is misogyny, but women aren't the only ones who become pregnant - before any of you jump at me, i know a trans man who wasn't allowed hormones because he didn't hate being pregnant "enough". he has a lovely kid, and he's expected to just disavow his own child to be taken seriously as a trans person? his own child? that's the damage assuming every trans person is "too" dysphoric to have a kid can do, which is usually the lazy justification for never including them in abortion debates.

That guy Sam interviewed was an idiot. He really didn't know about abortions. Maybe they should leave the decisions to women. It affects women more. Either that or give women an authoritative voice on something they never have to deal with. Like a prostate. Maybe if Republicans are hellbent on outlawing abortions they should enact a law to force the fathers to pay child support, no matter what their income or living situation is, just like what women have to deal with.
Fun fact: Hitler's mother was talked out of having an abortion while she was pregnant with him by her doctor.

simple solutions if you don't want abortions for non-medical purposes simply give all males the less intrusive, totally reversible vasectomy at puberty and once they've signed a marriage license it can be reversed! problem solved. I mean, they'd legislate the rights men have over their bodies too... right?

I agree with most of your comments but abortion is wrong...sorry but over 30 million abortions worldwide each year is simply sickening, that's about the population of Canada each year...think about that!

It is estimated that 140 million children worldwide are orphans. (UNICEF). - Wrap your head around the much larger number of unwanted kids. How many are you feeding? Decreasing your number only adds to mine.

My grandmother had a coathanger abortion... and that's why my mum's adopted.
My mother had three abortions before she had my twin sisters and then me later. She tried to conceive me for three and a half years to no success. I doubt she would have tried so hard with five or more other children running amok.
I like to think I'm born from a series of abortions, odd as it is, and seeing the toll it took on my own family members so many years after they made their decisions but how deeply they loved the hand they ultimately chose, I can't fault anyone for wanting the right to choose.
My sister got pregnant as a teen, and being younger and dumber, I tried to push her to an abortion or adoption. She refused, and thank goodness because my nephew is the bomb. I learned you can't sway someone either way if their mind and heart are set. Be it a crib or a coathanger, they will make the decision that best aligns with their inner desires, morals, and aspirations. I'd rather we make abortion safe and accessible to avoid maiming, disease, and death involved in unsafe alternatives. I'd rather we fix our adoption and foster care system to favour the children already in it before we tell women they have to have the baby and can funnel them into the system if they don't want to be mothers. I'd rather we acknowledged that women are more than incubators, pregnant or not, and what they need still matters even if you believe life starts at conception or what have you.
And I s2g if one more person tells me they could be murdering Jesus... like. Fine, whatever, but what if it was Hilter, Jr. instead? What then?

I want to see mothers of all ages treated better with a focus on valuing their voice and input more than in the past. Even in family counseling training, professionals learn that the most reliable indicator of the success rate of a given treatment's outcome is whatever the primary caretaker (usually mother) predicts it will be. Her predictions are the most accurate, time and time again. Since becoming a mother myself, I've witnessed a growing number of people (many in their professional capacities) treating me as a second-class citizen or no citizen at all simply because I'm a mother. Although I had everything in place in which to raise a child when I chose not to abort the pregnancies (married, two incomes, little debt with access to continuing upward mobility), after having the children, people increasingly commit crimes against me, acting as if abiding by child protection laws is an optional luxury item and child endangerment is legal and normal, reminding me that if I don't like how things are, I shouldn't have become a parent. If mothers were treated better across the board, the hardest job on earth wouldn't be made ten times harder by those who believe it's okay to take advantage of motherhood. More experienced mothers would have an easier time helping out and supporting the younger mothers, and the younger mothers would not have so much pressure to get abortions. That would be a much kinder and safer way to tackle abortion, and it aligns with both conservative and liberal viewpoints. That's where I would encourage people to start if they don't like abortion and want to do something meaningful about it.

It's the same people who are against the death penalty who are all for abortions.
How hypocritical. Unless it's for the health and safety of the mother, the govt shouldn't be paying for abortions.
