Eligible Bachelor Paradox: Holds that as attractive women hold out for the best catch, all the other men are being caught by women who may not be great lookers, but are decisive, and will harvest all the best mates before they reach maturity. So, as all these attractive picky females enter their thirties, they find that potential mates are as rare as Atlantic salmon, leaving them with the rubble of the masculine sex, namely Barney Rubble. As this trend continue, evolution will select women who aren't slinky, but sneaky, and will be fast, decisive, and know how to sink their claws into a potential mate. So, one hundred million years from now, expect evolution to select a new form of female, the velociraptor.

15 years and not a single black dude lol. This is why British show Love Island is much better because British are not racist and insecure about seeing Black men with white women lol.

@Heather Mooney Hi I read your argument. Remember the UK is 95% white yet I see more interracial couples in advertising, shows and films involving black men than the USA.

I guess it stems from the different history of the countries. Britain had an Empire that looted African and Asian countries and had slavery too, but they never denied slaves an education like the US did, never outlawed interracial relationships and peasants were considered equal to slaves. Plus slavery never happened on shore in the UK like the US so the psyche in general public that black people are less than human never really happened like the US, which is why Britain ended slavery much earlier.

Also Britain doesn't have racial ghettos like America. The UK is too small for that so communities must live together. You mention Birmingham having a big South Asian population, but it is still a majority white city. Brixton is meant to be the black ghetto of Britain, but it is still 40% white. You don't get Compton being 40% White. When people have first hand experience of living side by side you get less racial tension in the UK and the UK has the highest rates of interracial relationships and biracial children in the world.
The historical racial segregation of the US and redlining means any racial groups living in their own communities and this creates a them and us psyche and this creates more racial tension and makes interracial dating or couples more offensive to people in the US.

Love Island is one of the highest rating shows on UK TV so it is not just young people watching the show. To contrast the diversity on this UK show to the Bachelor shows makes the US look like 40 years in the past.

I don't agree with your point that is just older generations. Much of the prejudice in the US media is steaming from insecure white men. It has become incredibly noticeable how interracial relationships in TV and film has become mainstream only when it is a white man, but interracial relationships when it is a black man or male POC are still treated as taboo. It is was obvious that the first POC Bachelor would be a black women, because America has this weird white male psyche that white women have to be protected from men of colour that doesn't exist in Europe. That influences everything in the US media.

@jyn88 As I said it is the white American male insecurity why you never see any men of colour as the Bachelor. You don't have to the wait, just watch the vastly superior British show Love Island where you get black and asian men on the show because the British aren't racist and insecure, where they feel white women have to be protected from men of colour.

No Asian bachelor either, but I haven't seen any Asian male contestants that I would want to be bachelor anyways. Don't worry, Delboy0. One day you will see a black Bachelor. It will happen eventually.
