Which other classic Mel Gibson movie deserves to have us go Honest on it?

One: Speak up and join the conversation- we encourage respectful debate.
Two: Respect your community- racism, misogyny, homophobia and hate speech aren’t tolerated.
Three: Don’t go looking for fights.
Four: “Be nice.” - Dalton from Roadhouse

Braveheart stunk. Yes, I said it. It was a truly terrible movie. The 1950s version of Rob Roy was more historically accurate. (Yes, I know Braveheart was about William Wallace, not Rob Roy MacGregor. That's not the point.)

Great vid, as always. One small point: Gibson is not Australian, he has dual citizenship - Irish and American. He is, however, classified as a "permanent resident alien" in Australia.

You can see the hypocricy in how Honest Trailer poorly covered Braveheart. Braveheart was made decades before Game of Thrones so making it seem that Braveheart ripped of Game of Thrones is ridiculous because I'm very disappointed in the similarities between the two motion pictures, which means that Braveheart partially inspired Game of Thrones, something the narrator inadvertently revealed.
Honest Trailer which should be focusing on comedy, took time out to discredit the English practice of having sex with a Scottish Bride on the night of the Wedding so that an English child can become first born. That is a historical fact that the British are now flatly denying and it's interesting to see a comedy program on TVclip taking part in it.
The English doesn't like the effect that this film has had on the resurgence of Scottish demand for independence. Can you believe that Scotland is still struggling for independence centuries after William Wallace and Robert the Bruce? Those people don't leave nowhere that they conquer, just like Rome and America.

"Your dad's 300?" I was 15 when I first saw this; when 300 was released, I was 26. In other words, nowhere near old enough to have a son (or daughter) ready for R-rated movies. Unless you're referring to young people who've just seen 300 now?

  • Lord Albrus

Funny but there were definitely Kilts then just not legitimate Clan Tartans. Though, there were regional differences in Kilt color because of the natural dyes available in each area of the country.
The kilt has been around a VERY long time and was also worn in Ireland. The are very pre medieval stone carvings that depict men in kilt.
In fact, they were mumified bodies found in scotland which had fabric on them that was tartan...the classic multicolored check pattern that look very much like the 19th century invented "clan tartans" and they were stone age.
A kilt is just a wool blanket, pleated, and belted to wear as clothing. The utilitarian need for such a thing is surely ancient. There were Romans in the UK nearly 2 millenia ago with more advanced technogies and roads. When you have a raod and a cart you dont need to wear your blanket. So clearly it became a cultural clothing quite early in Scottish History.
